And rightfully so, in my opinion. WYC was a HFC bit from back in the day. Senor Bernsie had nothing to do with it.

This. LoHo when he is flying solo and is just being his nerdy self is actually a good listen. When he fills in for the day shows and tries to become "serious radio" the suck button gets turned way up.

We must be listening to, 2 different radio shows. Half of Larry's shows are replays of other shows. He could do like 30min on the Bears or WhiteSox and be successful. He reallly reallllly sucks at having a show. Also, he is creepy as fuck.

I could see them heavily pushing The Last WYC which would take place sometime immediately prior the big send-off, or possibly on that last show.

They haven't done WYC for a while now, I think.

Terry out today. Bernstein said no Terry tomorrow.

So it really must be bad. Because he made the announcement last Tuesday and said he was gonna try to be in the rest of the way. No remotes, obviously. That's why he didn't do shows Thursday and Friday. But he can't even do shows from his house the week after his announcement.

I won't be surprised at all if he never comes back.

If he's having chemo or radiation, he's probably not working the days he's having treatment. In which case I'd expect him maybe Thursday, more likely Monday.

His mention in his column of not remembering sports facts threw me for a second. Made me think he had a different ailment.

Is it confirmed that he has cancer?

No.

But Terry has admitted to having 2 surgeries. You don't have surgery for Alzheimer's disease if that's what you're thinking. He's 66. People forget stuff at that age without Alzheimer's. Terry was just rambling. Just speaking from the heart about getting old.

Not looking good for Boers. I saw Mike North put a tribute to Boers in the DH, any word from Murph, Hawk, Ted Greenstein, Ed Sherman and the Family of Ron Santo
how they are reacting to all this?

That was classy by North after all of the the piling on over the years by Bernstein that Boers went along with. Bernstein even said he did not want North invited to station reunions/anniversaries. Petty and classless are his primary guidelines.

I don't think Bernstein told Mitch "No Mike North" at reunions.

If I remember correctly, they invited North to the 20th anniversary celebration and he told Mitch he wanted to be paid for it. So they said "Fuck you".

No doubt in my mind Senor doesn't want to (sigh) invite an...undesirable element to Score events, one that people have worked hard to evolve the station beyond.

First time ever that "North" and "classy" have ever been used in the same sentence.

But you know, the burgundy coat/burgundy shirt/burgundy tie crowd has been showing up at the Score banquets long after North left.

Over/Under on how many shows Terry does the rest of the way. I would set the number at 5.

Good grief, first Florence Henderson, now Rashaan Salaam, hope Boers isn't going to be the third!

The woman owner from Major League died. That's 3.

I dont really listen anymore but this show was basically my first AM radio discovery and turned me into an AM junky. Boers is a much, much larger reason for that than Dan. As much as I dislike Goff as a show personality, I liked him as a producer of that show. And once he left it kind of was the end for me.

Anyhow, there is nobody working there currently they could put next to Dan to make him palatable. The only thing the Score puts out that I would consider listening to even in passing, is overnight, because it's just ridiculous.

I might have interest again if Cowley had a show but management couldn't control him. And he'd end up killing Dan.

Why does the replacement always have to be local? Surely there must be someone toiling somewhere in this great country of ours who has both a personality and the ability to articulate an intelligent sports thought.

What kind of Chicago sports expertise do you think you're going to get from Kansas City or Jacksonville?

Spiegs came in from the East Coast, if I remember correctly, where he was doing Sporting News Radio stuff, right? He had time to catch up on the Chicago sports scene (though he was operating from a base of knowledge that was Chicago-centric).

I was thinking there were people we do not know about that are native. They had to go away for school and get a broadcasting start. Bring them home if they are good. They can't be that much worse.

REBUILD THE SCORE!
