Many James Bond options but hard to go wrong with The Spy Who Loved Me.

An amazing Rick Sylvester ski jump off a cliff to a British flag parachute straight into an all-time great theme song.

Pulp Fiction had a great open... "Anyone of you fucking pricks move and I'll execute every mother fucking last one of ya!"

Also Goodfellas... "As far back as I can remember, I always wanted to be a gangster." Actually, Goodfellas qualifies for every "Best movie ______" pretty much.

In its time, A New Hope.

The music, the crawl, and eventually the biggest ship you've ever seen followed by a slaughter and some huge balck guy that can pick up and choke people with all the effort of opening a Michelob.

The opening scene in "UP" rivals anything ever made.

My first thought runs to Casino Royale...the black and white really did a great job in selling that it was a reboot and seeing Bond earn his 00 status was pretty cool.

the most recent Bond film was essentially one long shot, and I essentially watch that movie now just to see that open...

The X-Men movies were always good for an interesting opening sequence.

I loved the opening to Reservoir Dogs because of the dialogue at the breakfast table, the entire tipping sequence with Steve Bucshemi. It's not high action, but it sets a great one for the edginess of the movie. Mr Blue is still the best.

to deliver a prologue that begins with "the goal of war isn't to die for your country but to make the other poor bastard die for his"

Brilliant in both its cinematography, writing and production

The 28 Weeks Later opening scene was great. Rest of the movie, not so much.

This. Still liked the rest of it, but this was amazing.

Think that the openings of Goldfinger and On Her Majesty's Secret Service are tops for Bond.

Come on. It's a great movie and probably gets a bad rep because of Lazenby.

But, he ends the opening by breaking the 4th wall and saying "This never happened to the other fella." That's awful.

The amazing thing is it is basically a straight up word for word reciting of a Patton speech to the 4th Armored Division before they deployed to France.

In real life, Patton had a high, squeaky voice like a girl.

While I originally agreed with the first two posts, this one is undoubtedly more correct. Patton reaches out and grabs you hard immediately, bringing out the inner chicken/warhawk in virtually every guy

I was told that immediately after I first saw the movie and couldn't believe it. Now I laugh at that & how Scott must've felt after seeing the impact of that first scene.

I don't want to hear that we are holding our position. We're not holding a goddamned thing. We are constantly advancing and not holding anything but the enemy's balls.
