Other people write novels. Hell other people post them too. The reason people aren't responding to this has more to do with their overwhelming support of Thibs. I could be petty and posts some of the old stuff as others do but I'm not. I saluted Matches for being the one guy to not buy into the hype.

This dude is flopping big time. I don't think it will get much better. Hoiberg was never afforded this sort of patience and to be frank a rookie coach should get more rope than an NBA vet. There was a rush to judgment not because he was unproven but because he wasn't the great Thibs. Let's be honest about that at least.

That's wrong. Thibs had one of the best winning percentages in NBA coaching history. That's why people are not all of a sudden saying he sucks after 23 games. If Hoiberg had 5 years of NBA coaching experience with a similar winning percentage he would've been given a much bigger benefit of the doubt. That's it. It's simple.

Hoiberg was considered terrible even though he had a winning record and twice as many injuries as Thibs suffered the previous season. Few if any gave him the benefit of the doubt even though he nly won 8 fewer games as Thibs the previous year. I never said Thibs is a terrible coach. I think he is vastly overrated. The reason that I'm doing this after 23 games is because it's nothing I hate more than a Monday morning QB. Anyone can do that. I choose to get ahead of the bus. That is all this is. I'm not going to wait 3 yrs up the road for the rather anti climactic Thibs sucks thread. Actually at that point I really won't care to be honest.

So anyways, Matches would put on a white tie and tails and walk his pet cobra through the park on a leash. He named the cobra “Beverly”. He taught it how to fetch and dial a phone. But then one day, it bit the maid. So with tears in his eyes, Matches had to shoot the maid.

One time I asked Matches to dress up like Santa for a Christmas party I was throwing for my children. Well, he shows up as Santa, reaches into his bag and says, 'I've got goodies for you kids.' He proceeds to hand out scrap metal and cigarettes to them. Then he takes off his beard and says 'There is no Santa 'cause I ate him.'

As someone who does follow the league I'm here to tell you that I'm not. The Thibs cup runneth over a long time ago. To some he heals sick kids, walks though fire and has found a cure for AIDS.

I simply waited until he got amother job and CHOSE to Comment once the games started. Thibs apologists have a problem with it because what I said has a LOT of validity. He is bombing big time.

I doubt if MANY have really seen Minnesota play this season. They simply yell out cliches like it's early or they are young to compensate. At least Bagels watches the team play. It is obvious. The others are just disagreeing for the sake of disagreeing and personalizing like they always do. It's weak as hell at this point.

Much like NBA Action, this thread is Fantastic!

I also find it baffling that other posters are getting on LTG for talking sports on a sports message board. He's been nothing but spot on in regards to his Thibs posts.

The gall! Maybe it'd be less "psycho" of me to "obsess" about the meanderings that are Julie Di Caro's twitter account.

Did I ever tell you about the time Matches forced me to wear a woman’s bikini around the office? He tears off my clothes and makes me wear this skimpy bikini. For the next three months I had to conduct my business wearing a woman’s bathing suit. I would cry from shame and question my manhood daily. But at the end of the quarter, I’ll be damned if my sales hadn’t tripled.

I guess I could go all Hub Arkush and ask where exactly you obtained your psyche degree? Not much into embarrassment though.

Cool, then I don't need to embarrass you and ask where you got your "won't shut up about something that only you care about and post 10x more than anyone else" degree.

On the contraire mon Freire. There were about 3 threads started during the off season proclaiming a newfound interest in burgeoning Timberwolves buckets. I'm not the one providing Internet psychoanalysis thus my non psyche degree isn't really relevant.

If you aren't interested then don't comment. The fact that you chose displays that you may have psychological problems. I don't comment about things I don't care about. I also don't comment about things which I don't know about.

Did I ever tell you about the time Matches took me out to go get a drink with him? We go off lookin’ for a bar and we can’t find one. Finally, Matches takes me into a vacant lot and says, “Here we are!” Well, we sat there for a year and a half. Sure enough, someone constructed a bar around us! Well, the day they opened it, we ordered a shot, drank it and then burnt the place to the ground. Matches yelled over the roar of the flames, ‘Always leave things the way you found them!'

They blew a 10 point lead in the 4th but I don't see it as a negative yet.

Now tied with Philly for the worst record in the league. Have lost 9 out of their last 10. Its a negative.

I remember one time Matches took his family to Sea World. They were watching Shamu the whale when Matches got splashed! So Matches yells, I’m Matches Malone and no one gets me wet! So he climbs into the tank, grabs Shamu and throws the whale into the audience, splashes him and yells, “How do you like it?!” And then damn if Matches didn’t step in there and finish the show!”

In their last 32 they went 15-17. I don't expect them to be a playoff team this year but I think they could have been just outside looking in. They are 6-18 with a coach that is actually trying to win games. Last two rookies of the year and an emerging player in Lavine. Dieng is solid role player too. Towns was billed as a top 10 player prior to the season. They continue to collapse after halftime. They haven't had any injuries. Either the talent is overrated or Its Thibs. Philly doesn't even know who they are going to play from game to game and they are tied with Minnesota. That is a problem.

If it was about developing players it would be more acceptable. There top 3 guys were developed under Mitchell. They'd begun establishing themselves post all star break last season. He isn't even playing Tyus Jones. He also stated that their would be possible lineup changes and proceeded to trot out the exact same lineup last night.

I'm not where you are but if they aren't improving at the end of this season or fail to make the playoffs next year I'll start to have problems.

Why do we fall, ltg? So that we can learn to pick ourselves up. Thibs is laying the foundation for greatness.

Builds Adversity. I don't know though. He is trying to win games. If he was in the developmental phase Tyus Jones would be playing more. I think by All Star break it will become apparent what they are going forward. I'm talking next season too. If there are injuries (to top 3 guys) you have to hold off on assessment but if there aren't then I don't see championship contenders in their future. He isn't going anywhere with that contract. When young teams begin to develop woeful losing habits it is hard to change that. Particularly when in their 2nd and 3rd season of play. We will see but if they are that squad they would be putting up much more of a fight. Detroit blasted them by 27 (on their home floor) and Philly comes back and blows out Detroit in Detroit.

Philly is going to be the best of the young teams. I love their talent and I think Brown isn't that bad of a coach. Check for them next season FF. They will make the playoffs as long there aren't any injuries to their core guys (Embiid Saric Simmons). They have to trade Okafor and Noel before next season but this is the team to check for.

Seems like Thibs won this argument this week. Hoiberg may not make it to Christmas at this rate.
