That could have been a great 60 minute episode.

The good from last night:

Daryl is free
Maggie is in charge
Spencer is gutted
Negan is freshly shaved

The bad:
Everything else.

This is how most of the episodes should have been leading up to it. There were a lot of secondary Alexandrians who could have been taken out. I had to laugh when he gloated about Spencers' guts spilling out and how he helped them by killing the fat chick.

Silly observation, but Darryl escaping wouldn't really mean anything good, if you look at how Negan has acted in the past.

Negan KNOWS where Darryl went, and he would just force Rick & co to give him up, and waste yet another Alexandrian or two in the process.

Who's the guy in the boots sneaking around supposed to be?

I don't remember that from the comics.

I thought Dwight's ex helped him get out last week.

But that may be wrong. And I don't care enough to check it out.

Aren't the Whisperers years from now? So they're just going to skip the time jump?

Or it could be one of the inhabitants of the Island of Lesbos that Tara had run into previously.

The rumor is they'll be seen in the background. Yesterday might be the last we see of them until next season. And that's if the rest of this season is the War.

That was the best "group of people walking to something" scene in the history of the show. I'm so pumped to wait two months to see what happens when they finish walking the last 100 feet!

The best thing I can say is that it sets things up for what could be an interesting war with the Saviors this spring. There are a few nuggets from the comics but
they haven't been keeping to that faithfully for some time now, and that is fine with me. Not sure who the booted one is. Could be Whisperers as I have heard
that they may make an appearance but just not sure. I didn't see anything that gave it away. For a season that has been dragging a bit and disconnected by
focusing on certain characters I thought they brought it back together pretty nicely.

Where'd you hear that? If it's a Whisperer I guess that means no 2 year time jump?

also, they focused on his fancy boots. Whisperers don't wear fancy stuff, right? They pretty much wear the basics or make their clothes.

Yeah, they kind of have an Ed Gein fashion thing going on. Not into the fancy Doc Martens.
