It appears that the FBI and the DNC's IT guy are awfully stupid. There is a NYT article that is coming out tomorrow that lays out a timeline of the hacking. Apparently the FBI called the DNC's IT guy in early 2015 and told him to "check your system". The IT guy thought it was a hoax and despite repeated phone calls from the FBI he continued believing it was a hoax and didn't check for about 4 months. Why wouldn't the FBI go there and personally let them know and why was this IT Guy so terrible?

It appears the FBI did their job and as usual Dems don't listen.

Yes and no. They made the call but should have made a personal appearance when they saw nothing had changed for months. The DNC people were really stupid though and they allowed their systems to be repeatedly hacked.

DNC was hacked in the summer of 2015
FBI knew who was doing the hacking
FBI told DNC about hacking over the phone
DNC didn't listen because they thought it was a hoax
FBI kept calling and DNC kept ignoring
Months passed before DNC did anything
Finally did something in 2016
DNC was hacked by 2 Russian organizations
Other Democratic organizations were hacked
DNC begged Obama administration to go public
Obama administration was afraid to go public
Obama threaten Putin
Our government is currently inside Russian systems that's how they know who did it
Obama still hasn't responded
DNC people are really stupid
Hillary knows more about cybersecurity than they do

Fair enough. I thought there was a way to bypass it by going through google news. Or am I thinking of the Washington Post.

When the FBI called the guy googled the name of the Hacking group to see if it was legit
the Russians got in via Phishing email,ie hey click on this to see if you won money emails
The DNC is now claiming they where hacked because they don't have enough money for security.
Once again they are taking zero responsibility for the fuck-up

Podesta's squad got "hacked" because of shitty, outdated IT security protocols and a typo that led to clicking on a glorified "You've won a new iPad! Click Here to Collect!"

It keeps getting better and better.

lol and, throughout the entire article, there is a lot of colorful language, but there is STILL nothing conclusively connecting any of that to the Russian Government per se.

A whole lot of assumptions.

So, basically, anything that is typed using American English and coming from an IP address in this country has been sanctioned by the US Government? Laughable.

We should be THANKING these hackers for giving us the opportunity to be informed voters. Also, people should be going to jail based on the misdeeds uncovered in those emails.

Some of the items and wording I found hilariously "artful" and/or telling:

CrowdStrike confirmed that the intrusion had originated in Russia, Mr. Sussmann said.. . . WHICH PROVES EXACTLY WHAT? THAT A HACKER USED A PROXY THAT HAD A SERVER LOCATED IN RUSSIA?

the group also known as the Dukes or A.P.T. 29, for “advanced persistent threat” — may or may not be associated with the F.S.B., the main successor to the Soviet-era K.G.B., but it is widely believed to be a Russian government operation.. . . MAY OR MAY NOT, HUH? OOOOK.

Only in March 2016 did Fancy Bear show up — first penetrating the computers of the Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee, and then jumping to the D.N.C., investigators believe. Fancy Bear, sometimes called A.P.T. 28 and believed to be directed by the G.R.U., Russia’s military intelligence agency, is an older outfit, tracked by Western investigators for nearly a decade. . . . THE LOCH NESS MONSTER IS "BELIEVED" TO EXIST AS WELL. THIS IS A SIMPLE UNFOUNDED ASSERTION TO CARRY FORWARD A DESIRED NARRATIVE.

Attribution, as the skill of identifying a cyberattacker is known, is more art than science. It is often impossible to name an attacker with absolute certainty. But over time, by accumulating a reference library of hacking techniques and targets, it is possible to spot repeat offenders. . . HMMM. . .INDEED, BASICALLY THIS SENTENCE IS A ADMISSION THAT THEY HAVE NO CLUE IF RUSSIA WAS DIRECTING THE HACKERS OR NOT.

CrowdStrike experts found signs that the two Russian hacking groups had not coordinated their attacks. Fancy Bear, apparently not knowing that Cozy Bear had been rummaging in D.N.C. files for months, took many of the same documents. . .
HELLO - THIS IS VERY TELLING

The D.N.C. executives and their lawyer had their first formal meeting with senior F.B.I. officials in mid-June, nine months after the bureau’s first call to the tech-support contractor. Among the early requests at that meeting, according to participants: that the federal government make a quick “attribution” formally blaming actors with ties to Russian government for the attack to make clear that it was not routine hacking but foreign espionage. . . . REQUESTING THAT THE GOVERNMENT BLAME WHO YOU WANT TO BLAME AN ENTIRE COUNTY SO YOU CAN GET A POLITICAL HOLD ON THINGS DOES NOT EQUATE TO PROOF THAT THE HACKERS WERE EMPLOYED BY RUSSIA.

But the very next day, a new, deeply unsettling shock awaited them. Someone calling himself Guccifer 2.0 appeared on the web, claiming to be the D.N.C. hacker — and he posted a confidential committee document detailing Mr. Trump’s record and half a dozen other documents to prove his bona fides. . . . HMMM, I THOUGHT IT WAS ALL ABOUT HILLARY?

“The new joke in town,” he wrote, “is that Russia leaked the disastrous D.N.C. e-mails, which should never have been written (stupid), because Putin likes me.”. . . TRUMP WAS 100% RIGHT ABOUT THE DEMS STUPIDITY BEING WHAT SHOULD BE FOCUSED ON.

Great analysis, Panther. A lot of words and assertions but still no evidence of any links, direct or tangential, to the Kremlin. Which is what the original conclusion was in the NYT/WaPo article and the DNI. Those are, of course, left out of any discussion by our media outlets. Also notice that the original assertion of the RNC being hacked and their info not leaked is now kinda, sorta not a thing anymore because it wasn't hacked. I'm sure a retraction and correction will be issued soon.

Still comes back to two pieces of malware. The Two Bears!

But when it came time to make a public assertion of Russia’s role in early October, it was made in a written statement from the director of national intelligence and the secretary of homeland security. It was far less dramatic than the president’s appearance in the press room two years before to directly accuse the North Koreans of attacking Sony.

The reference in the statement to hackings on “political organizations,” officials now say, encompassed a hacking on data stored by the Republicans as well. Two senior officials say the forensic evidence was accompanied by “human and technical” sources in Russia, which appears to mean that the United States’ implants or taps in Russian computer and phone networks helped confirm the country’s role.

But that may not be known for decades, until the secrets are declassified.

Nas, think about it.
If you got several calls from the same guy claiming to be from the F.B.I. telling you the same thing over and over wouldn't you do something? I mean I would have either made my immediate supervisor aware of it or I would have taken down his information especially what department and office he was in and then called the local office and try to verify him and start looking into it.
If you are at home and your home security company calls and says I think one of your basement windows is open wouldn't you go check it out at least?

If that "appearance" were true, they could very easily now say that they are certain that it was the Russian Government. They have not, and most likely, cannot. Also notice where that tidbit is slipped-in - at the very end.

After all of the Wikileaks info from hacked emails I'm somewhat dumbfounded as to why anyone would believe anything from the likes of NYT, WashPO, Politico and the like.

We should believe Alex Jones and Breitbart or we should just go by how we feel or we could just bury our heads in the sand whenever something happens that challenges our beliefs.

Shit, since Wikileaks has been putting in the Good Lord's work, those guys are looking more and more mainstream.

Its no longer a "theory" if there actually is a conspiracy afoot.

Yes and WikiLeaks has also posted false documents and clearly picked sides in this election. People celebrate places like Anonymous and WikiLeaks until they cross a line that offends them. Neither should be respected or encouraged.
