it's definitely not the best but i loved watching "That 70's Show". the last season was horrendous and the guy they brought in to replace eric was total shit. but the show is good for lazy laughs. it's on IFC all the time now but they rerun a lot of the same episodes.

Yeah I used to like that show a lot when I was younger.

That '70s Show was the best low-investment sitcom. Like, whenever you had homework to do or you had to leave to go to play practice or whatever but still wanted the TV on in the background, That '70s Show was it. It was always on, it was never bad, and you didn't need to know what was going on in the grand scheme of things, if there ever was a grand scheme of things.

Again showing my age, but regular tv sitcoms after 1990 are really dull, unfunny exercises in attempts to be cool and "edgy".

In comparison, All In the Family, Sanford and Son and Soap were funny because they were a thumb in the eyes of the stupid and worst among us

Do you think Archie Bunker could survive today? Fred Sanford?

No way in hell, today's snowflakes don't know and can't handle funny, in part as evidenced by this thread

Me either. The 70's TV was some good stuff. But just like any all time list it will trend toward the younger ones around and later entrants.

I loved watching the 60s and 70s shows on reruns when I was a kid.

I'd sit with my dad and just laugh with him.

Fun times.

That is a good point that Cosby has not been mentioned. It was a very high quality, respected sitcom.

That 70s Show? Holy shit you guys must have had lobotomies. That pile of shit is on the level of Two Broke Girls and The Big Bang Theory. I don't know how you couldn't want to murder every character on the show.

I think I only saw one person mention Always Sunny but it's definitely my #1 too.

Arrested Development would be second.

Always Sunny has a couple things I love. One is the chemistry between the cast. You can tell they all enjoy being around each other, and I thought that more when I found out when they drink on the show they are actually drinking alcohol and getting wasted. It's a show that doesn't have many call backs. You can cherry pick an episode from any season and laugh. I loved how it subverts the genre, like when Mac got fat for no reason.

Nothing that smarmy fuck says surprises me anymore. I can hear him saying this in my head with a couple dramatic sighs and talk about the optics of it all.

The Big Bang Theory > That 70s show > King Of Queens > any soccer game.

I used to love watching reruns of Gilligan's Island, I Dream of Jeanie, and Hogan's Heroes as a kid. They're all pretty awful.

Did he say he felt that now or 10 or more years ago? Not a chance he felt that in the past.
