That '70s Show was the best low-investment sitcom. Like, whenever you had homework to do or you had to leave to go to play practice or whatever but still wanted the TV on in the background, That '70s Show was it. It was always on, it was never bad, and you didn't need to know what was going on in the grand scheme of things, if there ever was a grand scheme of things.

Again showing my age, but regular tv sitcoms after 1990 are really dull, unfunny exercises in attempts to be cool and "edgy".

In comparison, All In the Family, Sanford and Son and Soap were funny because they were a thumb in the eyes of the stupid and worst among us

i always felt this was really underrated. same with "bernie mac". both shows were damn good. the latter was quite sweet.

My Dad use to always watch Martin when I was a kid. Was one of his favorite shows. I enjoy it.

That 70s Show? Holy shit you guys must have had lobotomies. That pile of shit is on the level of Two Broke Girls and The Big Bang Theory. I don't know how you couldn't want to murder every character on the show.

I think I only saw one person mention Always Sunny but it's definitely my #1 too.

Arrested Development would be second.

Always Sunny has a couple things I love. One is the chemistry between the cast. You can tell they all enjoy being around each other, and I thought that more when I found out when they drink on the show they are actually drinking alcohol and getting wasted. It's a show that doesn't have many call backs. You can cherry pick an episode from any season and laugh. I loved how it subverts the genre, like when Mac got fat for no reason.

I used to love watching reruns of Gilligan's Island, I Dream of Jeanie, and Hogan's Heroes as a kid. They're all pretty awful.
