This is probably the oddest pairing in the history of the SCORE. Maybe in the history of radio.

Holiday time at the SCORE. Gotta love it.

She leads off the opening segment with talk of Train People. Also, Bruce Levine and David Schuster combining for 9 hours of programming is just silly.

It's weird. This time of year would often be where the producers would host shows. You used to get a lot of Goff and Drinky 5 or 6 years ago.

Now, even though drinky is still a back up, it's beneath him to do these shifts. I think drinky once thought that doing these shifts would lead to something. It hasn't so he finally said, "Fuck it". He takes the holiday week off just like the full time talent.

Although I think Bernstien said he'll be back tomorrow. He has said that he leaves 4 or 5 vacation days on the table every year.

Now talking about how younger fans interact with sports differently, centered on Julie's spawn, also the Cubs playoff wins being rebroadcast on CSN.

What is this?

Schuster and Bruce have voices that constantly crack and sound like they are on the verge of crying...

She said they were going to start out with Bears talk in her opening. They are all over the map and it's a train wreck.

Yeah. But nobody at the SCORE has a voice like Shepkowski. That voice just grates on you. STOP TALKING THROUGH YOUR NOSE, SHEP. IT"S NOT THAT HARD TO TRAIN YOURSELF. Remarkable that none of his bosses have suggested that to him.

Or it could be that it's a corporate holiday and he's an EP so is taking the day off.

I know. For today. But I think the last few years the main hosts take off the entire week. He and Goff used to sub in those slots. I don't think he wants to do it anymore. That's all. Shep and Ostrowski do it now. They also do the weekends and nights when Larry isn't there. Drinky and Goff used to do those shifts as well.

I'm not knocking drinky. He just doesn't want to do it anymore apparently. Shepkowski is the new drinky at the SCORE.

Fortunately for Julie she's paired with someone whose verbal communication skills fall somewhere between Mike Mulligan and Dan Hampton.

So you'll delete your stupidity when he shows up on the air for the rest of the week right...

Alright. I guess you know that he's doing the rest of the week. You win this one, Baby McNown. But I'll be back. That makes you 1-597 vs me. Not that I'm keeping track.

I wonder if drinky thinks that him working with Bernstein this week is an indication, to him, that he has the job. But I would think the new partner is decided and all of the people with the Bernstein show know who it is by now.

Btw, idk what ppl are talking about in here but I thought JDC has been pretty damn solid today. She's just talking sports today, she's not stupid (despite the fact tst many would say she has some "stupid beliefs") and you know, she's a solid/competent radio voice/delivery and if/when she doesn't bring her sociopolitical beliefs into a soapboxxy situation, yeah, you could do a lot worse.

Honestly, when you first pop on b&b and hear JDC in there you're conditioned to groan and look for things to dislike (even if that's "pretty much the bit" aka "the raison d'etre of the C/S/FMB) but I can honestly say that she's held down the fort pretty darn adequately today.

Maybe it's a bruce Levine thing? Bruce is more oldschool in that i can't ever remember a political thought fron him (hell, I can't even think of Terry's politics either.) So maybe it's a case of who she's with?

For what its worth, I brought up to her that I thought she was better than I assumed she'd be and personally I think the lack of sociopolitical soapboxxing = allows her to just chill and do her thing, I haven't had a PTFB moment... And when she hosts if she does it like this and established a mostly-sports bond with ppl... Man, maybe they won't agree with her wacky politics and social justice thoughts.. But they"ll be way less likely to go and make a 280+ page thread about you if they know you more for sports thoughts than SJW thoughts

She responded (despite my making it obvious that i'm sinicalypse) that she generally doesn't being up social justice when sgw hosts.

And right as I type this she's applauding Muhammad ALU for his social justice and she mentioned rwcual issues and gender issues. She didn't go into detail, but Lol I wouldn't be surprised if Julie dicaro is actually god/Jesus/something (hey, when will Hollywood reboot/remake the passion of the Christ and have Janelle monae play Jesus? Srsly "where the women jesuses at?" - what I say when I enter a bar with a few already I me.

TLDR= honestly I wonder if someone e like Mitch gave her a come to Jesus meeting cuz man oh man.... JDC seems like a totally different person on today's show with bruce. She's been "fine" (NOT AESTHETICALLY..... Only because I don't judge women based on their looks ! Duh! #InvertedMisogyny!) and uhhh.... As long as she avoids the soapbox (at least til she's established herself as something/anything else other than a "rabid SJW") o mean...
Pleasant surprise today tbh!

Hahaha... Man after I say all of that the final segment of the show goes from listing deaths to Julie beating around the bush of SOCJUS.... And then poor Bruce just had the most uncomfortable ~2min sokilowuy where he tried to give BIG UPS TO [CURRENT YEAR] for being more open and tolerant and accepting of LGBTQWTFBBW and etc.... And to hear bruce stammering and staggering and umming as he was clearly aware that he was tiptoeing through s minefield and if he used the wrong personal pronoun IR said anything that could even be 10% misconstrued, man, in terms of "possible blowback from brown and black" (god I miss sons of anarchy sometimes) --- yeah.

Yeah that was some kind of world class awkward ending to the show cuz our guy BROOOOOOOOCCCRED Levine was all shook up as he literally didn't know the proper/preferred syntax/terminologies to complement LGBTWWTFBBQs.... Which you know, hey, sign of the tines, eh?

I caught most of the last half-hour of that and couldn't believe that Levine literally couldn't get through a sentence without clearing his throat.

It was was horrifying. Is he sick or something?

I've heard him before. He wasn't like that.

I'm going to assume Big Red made it through the show without taking a nap?
