The reality is that you can't say with 100% certainty that there is no God. It's a logical fallacy. So a "7" is wrong by definition. However, don't take that to be a defense of religion. Adamant believers in God also logically can't know with 100% certainty that God exists.

Right. It's Richard Dawkins' scale and even he said he was a 6.9 and nobody should identify as higher than that.

Do you feel comfortable saying with 100% certainty that no man has come back to life after three days of being dead in a cave or that no illiterate wrote the Koran?

No. I probably wouldn't say anything with 100% certainty. I wouldn't even say that my consciousness and existence is real with 100% certainty.

Edit: I will say that Kenny Williams is a shitty Team President with 100% certainty.

I'm not sure how many times I can say I don't care what you believe but I will try it again. I don't care what you believe. I'm not going to beat you up for your beliefs.

It's not about my beliefs or your beliefs. It's about people challenging your beliefs, and I do not think there are militant atheists going around telling you to not believe in an equal proportion of people seeking to spread their religious beliefs through media, door-to-door or even in casual conversation. I've had numerous people recently enlighten me about the "true meaning of the holiday season". Have not heard anyone say that Jesus is a fake a Santa Claus.

Smart man.

In 2003, philosopher Nick Bostrom proposed a trilemma that he called "the simulation argument". Despite the name, Bostrom's "simulation argument" does not directly argue that we live in a simulation; instead, Bostrom's trilemma argues that one of three unlikely-seeming propositions must be true. The trilemma points out that a technologically mature "posthuman" civilization would have enormous computing power; if even a tiny percentage of them were to run "ancestor simulations" (that is, "high-fidelity" simulations of ancestral life that would be indistinguishable from reality to the simulated ancestor), the total number of simulated ancestors, or "Sims", in the universe (or multiverse, if it exists) would greatly exceed the total number of actual ancestors. Therefore, at least one of the following three propositions is almost certainly true:

"The fraction of human-level civilizations that reach a posthuman stage (that is, one capable of running high-fidelity ancestor simulations) is very close to zero", or

"The fraction of posthuman civilizations that are interested in running ancestor-simulations is very close to zero", or

"The fraction of all people with our kind of experiences that are living in a simulation is very close to one"

Seacrest you really kinda are a dick.
I don't mock your religious beliefs. Not seriously. I'm happy for you for having something to believe it.
What I like to mock about you is your extreme arrogance and narcissism. That's more worthy of being mocked.
Merry new year.

Now...
This is an actual conversation I had with a customer. I thought this might be relevant. Perhaps it's not but this thread made me think of it...

Customer: say, what religion are you?
Me: ah you know I'm not really comfortable talking about that kind of stuff at work...
Customer: Well if you're going to be installing that I need to feel comfortable with who you are in my house.
Me: I was raised a Catholic
Customer: so you're not Catholic any more then.
Me: I'm a Mikeist. I believe in me. [Slight chuckle]
Customer: see where that gets you. There's no ac in hell.

That's a weird ass thing to say to someone.

Extremely weird, but there's a ton of people willing to think/say things like that. Serial killer material.

Pick a lane DS.

And for the record, I voted for you to get a cool color coded screen name but was shouted down.

Happy New Year to you and the dinosaurs.

What does pick a lane mean? Do you know what it means?
And what is the significance of a color coded screen name?
The dinosaur thing had nothing to do with your religious beliefs for the record.
You've been a jerk to me since you completely misunderstood the parody pm I posted last spring. You completely missed the joke and have been rude to me since.
It's not my fault you don't have a sense of humor.

Religion is a deeply personal thing. Even though two people may be raised the same in terms of religion if you separate them and ask them to describe god neither one will say the same exact thing. If they did I would be worried. That is cult type stuff. It all comes down to faith pure and simple. Faith in something greater and more powerful than yourself giving some direction to this seemingly random resistance we lead. We as humans need it ,in one form or another. Either in a celctial being or terestial. Does god assist as written in the books? Won't know until we migrate to the next plane of resistance. I think he or she ,is there to n some formats put in the books. One of the reasons the followers of the bible(Jew,Christian or Muslim) are kinda hard line in the faith and tend to be dogmatic is a line in the old testament attributed to him,the whole I am a jealous God you shall have no other before me. But then unlike the otherotherr two Christianity is forgive your enemies, don't get caught up in material things because the real deal is in the next world. That is why I following, you are allowed to be human.
The one thing I don't like about Christianity is the need most see to prostlitize . I mean one of Issues best stories is about how it is preferable not to be all showy abnout your faith.

Yeah, that is why I try to stay out of these discussions. As I have said before my faith is my business. No one else's. The reason I have a problem with some other faiths is they want to restrict my ability to worship my faith.

For the record Seacrest I get that you're throwing Nas and jorr under the bus with your vote disclosure.
Fact is they are right. You're wrong.
I don't need a special color. I'm not any different from anyone else on this site. I contribute less now than I did 10 years ago. I no longer have time to contribute more. I'm not creating content or revenue or really doing more than simply reacting to what I read when I have a chance, which, sadly, is becoming more and more rare.

Go on...

When a southerner says "bless your heart" what they're really saying is "fuck you".
When a religious person says "I'll pray for you" or say the more passive aggressive but we'll timed "merry Christmas" the sentiment is similar.
It's veiled thru the keyboard of cowardice but the same nevertheless.

I mean one of Issues best stories is about how it is preferable not to be all showy abnout your faith.

Do you think there are religious people on this board who violate that principle?

Yes.

Thank you. Have a blessed day.
