I fully expect the bears to win and end up picking 6th.

You're forgetting how much the bears blow.

Fair point.
In that case, let's hope for a 49ers miracle and the Bears pick 2nd.

There can't possibly be a way he saw Rhodes AND decided to throw that ball...

That was a sweet 17 drive play.

Dick Stockton is the best.

Are we sure Fangio and the defense will be fine next year?

No.

The defense is improved, barring health in the front 7. They could still use another 5 technique and another edge rusher, but they really, most of all, need are playmakers. If they add nothing to the front 7, it's probably a competent unit, but unless Floyd and McPhee play at a consistent high level, where are the playmakers? The back 4 need at least 2 NFL quality starters and possibly three. It's really bad in the secondary.

The last 2 years the Bears set records for least amount of TO's on Defense,17 in 15 and 11 this year. Yet the blitzing is held to a minimum. Something is wrong somewhere.

They don't have playmakers in the front 7 unless Floyd or McPhee are these guys. Goldman is a good player, but hasn't shown he can stay on the field and ILB's are solid, good players, but not going to dominate a game. If they 1-2 playmakers in the front 7, turnovers and sacks would probably come as a result. In the secondary, they may not even have an average NFL starter right now. Porter is ok if he is healthy and Amos needs to play pre-dominantly in the box, but the other CB's need to be nickel types. Having a ball hawk would also help in the turnover category, bu the Bears haven't been able to draft or sign any of these guys. That has to be a focus (the entire secondary) this off-season.
