Bernstein: The Bears need to consult with Theo to learn how to win these damn things. Winning press conferences is really, really important.

Will Dan continue the "ted Phillips doesn't meddle in football affairs despite having the title of team president" narrative despite all logical signs pointing to the fact he does involve himself?

Would love it if she just said Fuck it, I'll be dead soon, my kids have ruined the franchise -- I'll hire Bill Parcells and Jimmy Johnson and give them whatever they want.

Is this something Bernstein came up with himself or did he latch onto it after hearing it someplace else? It's just silly. What is said at a press conference is important to the media because it gives them something to talk or write about. They can dissect what is said and speculate about it for months on end. People can say anything they want in a press conference whether it's based in reality or not, so what is said matters far less than what those people actually do and what happens on the field.

I am sure it is derived from Bernsie's love of all things public relations. Winning the PC and optics etc.

Yes he is. I think he is finally ready to concede his perceived Bears front office power structure. For a supposedly "smart" guy, he sure gets bamboozled easily.

It's DC talk.

Bernstein and West Side Mike would be a good show.

What I took from the presser is Cutler will be on the roster next year and Brick will be fuming another season.

Why did you get the impression that Cutler will be back? What was said?

I'd actually be fine with that as long as they have a first round qb they are letting hold a clipboard while Cutler starts the season.

However, I didn't really hear that in the press conference. They seemed pretty non-committal about everything with the qb besides trying to find a long term answer.

Just a hunch as they mentioned his healing fast and all options are on the table. Maybe that changes should they pull the trigger on a QB with first pick.

Dammit, the podcast of transition isn't up yet. I want to hear Dan get roasted! Also, was there really a hint about the upcoming show?

I didn't hear a hint. All I heard later on was Bernsie say we will know when there is something to tell. Drinky made it seem as if the beans will be spilled at end of tomorrow and we would know Friday.

My take is Drinky is like a son to Terry. He will be the last guest with Terry tomorrow. He hands it off and you are actually listening to the actual show right now.

Brad Biggs is on now. I often have a difficult time differentiating between he and Mike Mulligan. Their voices sound similar to me and Biggs is only marginally more articulate than Mulligan.

Plausible. Perhaps the last two guests would be both Dan & Drinky together ... might be better 'passing the torch' optics, with the last segment being Terry alone.

He's like a combination of Jerry DiNardo's breathing and Mike Mulligan's speaking.

There were/are very strong hints that todays show is the future afternoon show. Bernstein and Drinky!

Well, that wouldn't be the worst choice. As long as it isn't left to Drinky to drive the show. I heard him yesterday not be able to give out the phone number and text line without stumbling.
