I sometimes like to watch parts of the Golden Globes or the Academy Awards, especially if I have seen the movies/shows that have been nominated, but don't think I'm even going to tune in tonight as I suspect the smug, self-righteous political commentary is going to be off the charts. I don't feel like being lectured on the tragic state of ________ by the makeup artist for Florence Foster Jenkins or have a woman who made 11 million dollars last year tell me how she will never stop fighting for income equality as it is something that is all too real for her.

Meryl Streep has to lead the league in combined Globe and Oscar nominations. If for no other reason, she gets offered great parts more than any other women. Where as the men split up the great parts.

Not taking anything away from her, she's good, but she gets more good parts than the other actresses. Especially since she's past 40. They all go to her first for the 40+ roles. Now the 50+ roles.

Still has to be awkward for him to be there. I doubt Hollywood's elite blacks and Jews talk to him. I think Jodie Foster supports him, though.
