The Libertyville one is like this, and they were still open in early December, with people in line while it was snowing.

For the record, beni is right...the heath bar one is the best. Brownie batter is a close second.

It is currently closed for the season. The Vernon Hills, Buffalo Grove, and Mundelein locations are still open.

I believe the Gurnee one is too...unless it's closed for good. We haven't gone over there in a while.

I always assumed the ones that close in the winter are of the basic stand variety. All the true restaurant structured ones I see stay open.

Lake Geneva's was like that, but apparently it just went out of business and DQ wants to build a year-round restaurant in its place.

I don't think so. People still like Brazier Burgers and Mr. Mistys in February.

There is a shitty ice cream shop near my house called Dairy Star. When I was a kid it was a Dairy Queen but the owner couldn't meet franchise standards and/or refused to pay the franchise fees. It closes every winter. Every night in summer the place is packed. But it's really terrible. And there is an Oberweis around the corner now. I'm not sure how Dairy Star stays in business but I guess it's a Lincolnwood tradition.

Anyway, I blame Trump for the incident in Zion.

It's Kosher ice cream.

The Dairy Queens in Wilmette and on Devon and Talcott close for the winter.

Dairy Queen is the Pizza Hut of ice cream.

I thought Dairy Star was what people yelled out after they tipped over a cow?

Well, in soft-serve ice cream, they sell a product that's mostly air.

It's technically not even ice cream.

Anyone who has ever tried anything off the savory menu at DQ is a disgusting idiot.
