edwin jackson was a flat out brilliant double-edged signing tho. not only did you technically drop 4/52 on a pitcher so you could turn around and tell the jimmypasta types that you spent $$$, but you also signed edlose fucking jackson, a confirmed "innings eater" known to regurgitate 18/+ losses for the kids.... and seriously, did good ol edlose NOT come here and promptly lose a whole lot of games that helped the cubs get better draft picks?

also i gotta admit that you get some style points from me when you can throw out 52mil to just flip off a small (and ironic) minority of your fanbase. i wonder if someone ever made a picture of theo with the "deal with it" sunglasses? 8) 8) 8)

No. Theo tried to throw money at some other pitcher who turned him down for Tigers. Jackson was an attempt to save face from that rejection. He then tried to throw a bundle at Tanaka the next year and was saved from blowing that money as well by rejection.

Still fighting the "Theo isn't that great" fight?

He certainly isn't great when given big money to spend in free agency.

I suppose he is super awesome at manipulating inequalities. Hoorah, Theo!

He was great at getting the Cubs organization to the promised land. Have to give him that without a doubt. It is also obvious the organization is in great shape moving forward. When you get away from the honeymoon though some may fear why it was so quickly Boston fell apart after his first win.

Want to present a Cubs player with his World Series Ring?

Also, David Ross has new role with the team...

They won the World Series again 3 years later.

He thought he could get Jackson to look real good in the NL for a year and a half and flip him. Jackson was the same bum he's always been, bad move.

I simply don't understand how you could attend one of these things and ever want to go back again.

I wouldn't wait in line for a Billy Joel autograph but you would wait in one for Billy Williams.
