But he was elected president.
Don't see the connection here - I was just pointing out what I think is hatchet's inconsistency.
I don't believe it's inconsistent at all. One can have nothing but contempt for Trump and simultaneously be appalled at attempts to nullify the results of a fair election.
To the extent that attempts to "nullify" (I don't think anyone is there yet) the results are politically motivated and dishonest, then I'd wholeheartedly agree that everyone should be appalled. What you have going on though is intelligence agencies and elected representatives from both parties analyzing information they've received/uncovered about the President-elect. That is factual - everything around it is just noise. I think partisans fail to realize that both democrats and a large number of republicans detest Trump, so it's not a right vs left issue. I don't see why people have a problem with agencies charged with defending US interests at home and abroad just doing their job. As a matter of fact, Trump is part of the problem because he's refused to be completely transparent with his financials.
I think a reasonable person who isn't a wacko Info Wars watching conspiracy theory nut can certainly have doubts about whether this stuff is Russian propaganda, U.S. intelligence propaganda, the truth, or some combination thereof.
I do think that someone who wanted to give this stuff credibility knew exactly how to do it. There are 100 senators and probably 95 of them would have had that "dossier" come across their desks and simply said, "Oh this bullshit. Yeah, Trump likes getting pissed on. Welcome to the Oval Office.

" and threw the thing in a desk drawer to giggle about later or into his wastebasket. But it just happened- not coincidentally, I believe- to land on the desk of John McCain, the one guy who was going to storm over to the FBI waving the document around like a lunatic.
I just don't believe James Clapper, a noted liar and a man who lied again just the other day when asked about Julian Assange by- guess who?- John McCain.
