The last time he was this sick, I happened to be visiting his presidential library at Texas A&M. It was an odd feeling, because there was speculation then (maybe 3 years ago) that he wasn't going to make it, and I thought it would be interesting to be at the library when he died.

His kids were dumbasses, but I liked the old man.

Pneumonia came close to killing me about 4 years ago. I had it in both lungs plus a virus. My kidneys were shutting down while in the hospital and then my magnificent will to live fought back. This all happened a year before that other thing.

The scary part was I never felt that bad but I knew something was wrong because I couldn't sleep longer than 5 or 10 minutes at a time without getting the sensation of not breathing.
