Haven't read the thread, but if your answer to the OP is that you're fine with extra "justice", you're not an advocate of the American justice system at all. You are in favor of emotion over logic and a subjective, individually-based set of rules for justice.

We're all human. If someone harmed a loved one I imagine you would want to get your hands on them no matter what.

We ask the police to be better than this. We do not want them beating on suspects, no matter what they do.

I understand but we can't pretend that cops aren't human or we wouldn't want to do the same if someone murdered a loved one.

'Wanting to' is one thing. You simply don't do it ... it's a choice, plain and simple.

Looks like they made the right choice.

If I've learned anything in my 11 years on. It's to not take anything into your own hands. Let the courts fail and try not to be depressed afterwards

The logic some seem to use when saying they understand why cops might use this street justice confuses me. Police must control, manage and otherwise suppress their emotions at all times the best they can. If this is excused then it is not different than excusing the cop for beating the shit out of someone for being spat on and called a slur. It is too dangerous to allow some sort of sliding scale in this area.

Controlling your emotions after being spit on is FAR different from 2 of you colleagues and a pregnant woman losing their lives because of a suspect.

Of course it is a choice. Even if you disagree with it you can understand why they did it.

Understand, sure. Acquiesce to, no. I don't think you are arguing the second point ... some are though, which is a rather unfortunate choice on their part.

I fully understand that. But justifying one may lead some other to try to justify the other.

The official position has to be no despite any fleeting feelings of satisfaction it may bring

This is probably the best-worded response in the thread. Just wanted to point it out since dolphin rarely gets the opportunity for such a compliment.

You're a little early for Pulaski Day.

I believe Pulaski Day and Paczki Day fall on the same day this year.

I'd hate to think what would happen to IMU if he ever came near leash's family.

Leash, Leash's dad and I would be drinking into the wee hours.
