I was actually wondering what would happen when Pence was sworn in but before Trump was. If someone killed Trump at that moment would it go to Pence since he was sworn in already or would the decision rest on the current POTUS since the transfer of the presidency hadn't happened yet.

If something happened to Trump, Pence would become Pres auto
