Ran into Chris Rongey on Saturday night at a bar. He said his last day is Thursday. Going back to STL. Also, he said a lot of people at the Score are unhappy with the new lineup, particularly the hiring of Parkins -- he said a lot of folks said certain people (Matty?) got passed up.

Was it all Dan's doing? Goff just isn't that good.

A guy from New Trier with rich parents does have Senor's fingerprints all over it, come to think of it.

Good for Rongey, I felt bad for him getting stuck at the Score without the White Sox, but the in-house guys at the Score got passed up because they're not compelling on-air personalities. Rongey will forever have one of my favorite under-the-radar Score malaprops.

I could see him being an nice guy in person. He's dry and dull on the air. that's how he wanted to run the white sox post game, till dumb ass White Sox fans grilled him because he wasn't "mad" enough after losses. I mean, let's be real, Sox fans are pretty fucking insufferable.

Rongey is better at updates than Matty. If they are pissed at anyone it should be Dan for doing things which caused JDC to be hoisted and foisted upon them all.

Rongey was great in person. In fact I didn't know I was talking to rongey until the middle of the conversation. I thought he started off well here for his first few years. He was beaten down through the years by the conflict of having to forward the sox agenda in the face of crumbling fan confidence

This must have been a sudden move as there is no way a person re entering the St. Louis market would have professed his enjoyment of the cub World Series win that rongey did last week. I bet he hopes that one gets buried

I liked the Sox game post show, Rongey blew it by being a condescending Caller Bob and company man..he thought he could stay employed by that technique.. He was wrong.

I wasn't bothered by it. However, if I had to sit behind the desk and take those calls, I'd be bothered by it, like Rogey. Hence why he developed into such a prick on the air.

He actually said he got the new gig a while ago. Said he wants to be closer to his family, and I think his dad passed away last summer.
