Was it all Dan's doing? Goff just isn't that good.

Thanks for the info. This is unfortunate that the Score is getting rid of their biggest Sox fan.

Biggest Cardinals fan. Mully is the biggest Sox fan at the Score.

Did he get a gig at KMOX? Blink once for yes, two for no.

Yeah, draping the city in W flags and wearing their Bryzzo t-shirts. Sox fans suck. And is there a Sox fan alive who hasn't made a movie about his own personal Sox fan experiences?

That's an odd thing to get bothered by.

Not as odd as getting bothered by angry Sox fans calling in after a bad loss. In fact, I'm not sure why a Cub fan is listening.

I wasn't bothered by it. However, if I had to sit behind the desk and take those calls, I'd be bothered by it, like Rogey. Hence why he developed into such a prick on the air.

Why would a Sox fan be bothered by it? That's the problem with having the show hosted by a guy who isn't a Sox fan. I bet if he hosted Cardinals post game after the Denkinger game and lipid called in in a fury, he could commiserate.

Not KMOX. I think he said ESPN radio, 101.1 or something.

WXOS. He's going to be 3rd chair on The Fast Lane with Randy Karraker and Brad Thompson.

I loved the "fire and passion" of Doug and OB postgame, but it has to be organic. No, he's wasn't a Sox fan at heart. So, from what I heard, (over the years), Sox fans would call "raging" and they seemed to get upset that Rogey wasn't displaying the same emotion, and slowly that morphed into him telling Sox fans their ideas for fixing the mess were "stupid"

He is, does mornings. Rongey should mix well with Thompson's humor on the air. But oh my GAWD is that going to be a Cardinals suckfest. I've at least heard Miklasz be critical.

I think the St. Louis market has four or five sports talkers (depending on whether you count KMOX, which has Cards and Blues pbp and probably some sports talk in evenings -- it's basically red-faced-dope WTMJ) and all of them are awful.

Say what you will about St. Louis as a city, but I've heard the WXOS (a Hubbard property) studios are absolutely divine. The cluster of stations there was once owned by Bonneville International, a front for the Mormon Church.

Yeah, KFNS is the other big one, which was recently taken over by some young cat that's doing a Barstool shtick. They don't even subscribe to the Nielsen ratings.

I agree. That was the problem with not having a real Sox fan doing the show. Wills often called idiot fans "drillrods", but only when it was deserved. Rongey went into bernstein mode where he began arguing with reasonable people just to argue like a douchebag.

In 2011, Rongey loved to tell " dumb" Sox fans that they were stupid for calling for Dunn to be benched and Santos and Crain to not be allowed to close..turned out those " dumb" Sox fans were correct and the blown saves and Dunn's. 150 avg. And .290 obp ..sank the team..that 79 win team should~ could have made the playoffs.

Bonneville takes care of its people (when not using its revenue to convert dead Jews).

I called it.

When drinky got the full time updates for B&G there was no longer room for Ranger.

While he might have gotten this gig in St. Louis a while ago, he saw the writing on the wall. So he was kind of forced out.

And I also knew that everybody at the SCORE was pissed about Parkins. Especially drinky. Ranger has confirmed it.

That damn Bernstein hired Parkins!!!!!

Well, the Metro-East, so down at St. Louis Fanatics Message Board they're disowning him because he didn't go to a Catholic school in the city.

Please notice what Goff and Parkins have in common. They both had regular shows(albeit, in another city, God forbid) and then got promoted to a shift at the Score.

None of these producer/fill in guys are willing or offered a gig out of town to work on their craft. That means they are more Chicago guys than radio guys.

I am not saying Goff and Parkins are better, I just saying they got some real ass on air milage before getting a daypart shift here in market #3.

Some of these guys get weekend shows, so I am not sure other than Mitch seeing them have a regular radio show, if I buy that. The problem is, they suck. Goff can not lead a show, neither can meatpants.

Rongey just wasn't cut out for taking angry fan calls after a tough loss. The best part is it seemed like each subsequent caller was dumber and angrier than the last.

No sports post-game host should have to endure that.

Yeah Rongey came off poorly in those exchanges. If you are going to take calls, fans are going to vent after bad losses. "Why did you bring the closer in with two outs in the 8th?" "Why didn't you bring the closer in with two outs in the 8th?"
