They should try to program that 10-midnight slot a little better. I thought it would be a good idea to do like an Extension 720 but for sports, where you do a longform interview with someone and then open up the phone lines. Could be interesting in the right hands, none of whom work for WSCR, most likely.

yeap, i can vouch for this too. hell, the time i met the venerable spmackman was the same time i first met a bunch of C/S/FMB people, the dec 2009 b&b remote @ cleo's... the thing that gets you with rongey is that you see an unassuming yuppie-with-a-touch-of-hipster dude in his thick-rimmed glasses and think nothing of it, but then you hear his voice and it's like "damn that's the guy from the radio! OMFG!"

i remember our former dear leader was really cozy with the ranger and you could tell that biggie definitely didn't mind the perks that came with his status as "king of the pantsless cretins" because he was able to carry on with relative-celebrities like rongey on a personal level (#WhoIsSarahMuscles? IIRC i think biggie was either the one who hooked them up or he was there when rongey first picked her up? it was something like that)

i don't to throw any sort of shade @ el fan grande like it was wrong of him to enjoy having a conversation with rongey, but it's just something that i noticed. *shrug*

oh yeah and rongey has a [proper] account on the board: Ranger.

So Drinky thought that he'd get a full time hosting gig based solely on longevity at the station? Here's a crazy thought, spend some time actually working on your craft. Goff did (he moved to Atlanta to do it) and got the afternoon drive slot. Parkins is someone who obviously worked hard to get the job. Drinky seemed to think that he'd get an on-air gig simply by sticking around.

Yep. It's hard to know exactly how Matty's career arch went, but he certainly didn't take full advantage of his hosting opportunities. He just never developed into anything that good on air.
Anyone remember the Me & Z Show? Not great, but Sir Lawrence did work on his game since that time and created something for himself too. Sometimes it's good, sometimes it is self serving and painful, but he made it work. I never got the feeling Drinky did the same. Seemed his interests maybe were elsewhere within the business.

North made more in 5 years than Jesse will make in 20.
