I've always thought that since he started drinky's attitude was always "I'm too cool for this sports crap". But he's trying to be a sports talk show host. You might want to know stuff about sports. Be informed and interested.

I don't think drinky really knows sports well. Above and beyond all of his other flaws, that's that probably what has hurt him the most as far as advancement.

I'll say this for Bernstein, he's reads a lot and wants to know a lot. He's better informed me on some things.

Drinky has always thought his personality will carry him. But the "high school punk" thing gets old once you're over 40 with 3 kids.

If you didn't know drinky's age, you would think he was a 19 year old intern at the station. Just by the way he talks and behaves. And the bad jokes. My God, the jokes are awful.

Rongey is one of the good ones, IMO. I don't really give a shit if he leaves, nor would I for anyone... but Rongey speaks his mind and is occasionally funny, which is better than 80% of Score hosts. For what it's worth, I think the Parkinsons guy is good, too, but I just can't defend a New Trier hire for "the voice of the fan." We've already got one of them.

Bernstein has always painted him as quite the "hound", though. Bernstein would say that after his update, he's constantly hitting on women in the building for the next 25 minutes before he has to get back to do the next update.

Which makes you realize that "Update boy" is a pretty easy job if 90% of the time is spent trying to get laid.

Yes, that doesn't seem to be the least bit anecdotal or presumptuous or downright weird. Carry on.

Rongey was always smarmy. I won't miss him though I am sure his replacement will somehow manage to be worse.

I don't know that Matt wants to host. If he does, the ship has sailed. His minimal effort and piss poor attitude killed that chance. I always saw him as a future suit in sales or management. He's never had one compelling sports thought.

i never blamed him for not being polite to drunk meatball die white hard sox fans... i always found his hosting to be bland and way too wordy... he has the ability to talk for several minutes straight without ever getting to a point... i'd say ill miss his laughing fits as update guy for B&B but it appears there isn't that much to crack up about with B&G

As many have said, really a nice guy in person. Tge worst sort of Bernstein on the radio though

Yeah, for all the complaining about Parkins and his radio voice, Ranger pretty much coasted on his pipes the whole time he was at the Score -- well, that and his willingness to carry water for White Sox management for a decade.

Rongey's voice is nothing special, he pauses a lot and never came off as smooth or left the impression of good pipes...play by play was a pipe dream for his sub par abilities, look at Bernfield or Hoge, they lapped him and Abattaclueless and Larry in about 18 months. Bernfield had a " radio voice"
