I just read the story linked in the original post. I do not know what the statement "send in the feds" means. What I didn't see though was any mention whatsoever of the National Guard or US Military coming to Chicago. For all we know Trumps empty tweet means sending in DOJ, FBI, ATF or any combination of federal law enforcement workers.

Given the context, I think we can assume it. Also, there is a subtler message when the president threatens to "send in the Feds" to someone who knocks him. There is enough ambiguity that one could wonder if he's making personal threats against a mayor now. Not good.

In any case, his big plan was for the Federal Government to send more money to Chicago. If anything, the opposite will probably happen. Oh, and the Springfield budget deal looks to be breaking down.
