Legend seemed to be in denial a big part in why Trump won was the lack of black support Hillary received relative to Obama.

Keith Olbermann was an absolute clown tonight. What an embarrassment.

Not since the old SportsCenter days.

I've watched Maher for years.

During the W years, he did a great job telling people what a treacherous regime Bush/Cheney were.

During the Obama years I think he had it right defending Obama vs the stupid right wing wacko's like Fox News that made up mostly bullshit.

Saw his first show today during day 1 of trump and what a crock of shit show that was. First of all Jane Fonda proved she's a airhead ditz. That bitch is a traitor and I will never get over that. They don't call her Hanoi Jane for nothing.

Dont these hollywood people understand that the average person dislikes you. If anyone from Hollywood tells me to do something I do the exact opposite.

Olbmerann's tirade pissed me off just like when I use to watch Hannity make up shit about Obama during Obama's presidency. His ignorance on the show is beyond limits.

The country has shifted now. By country I'm talking about people like me, independents. The lefty guests that Maher had on during the W and Obama years came off as counterpoints now sound like a bunch of ass clowns. Talking about the same shit today on his show was lame and unimaginative. If all they'll do is bitch blindly about Trump based on nothing it'll become a niche show like the democratic party was in the 80s.

Others may say it happened much sooner, but for me, tonight was the first night that Bill Maher really felt like a relic, a peer of those lame "Trimming the Shrub" bloggers from the Bush years, but for the celebrity wing of that. Maybe having Keith Olbermann up there with him, who's been a relic for years now, really drove it home.

I've had this article on my mind the last two days, about how irrelevant and lame Markos Moulitsas has become, maybe that influenced me.

Thought Maher was sharp last night, and that he was spot on with the petty liberal infighting:

The number of votes lost due to excessive political correctness from liberals is probably close to equal to the number of votes lost due to liberal smugness yet Maher will of course never indict the latter.

He has critiqued both, but don't mistake smugness for accepting stupidity either.

Kinda starting to tune out what Bill Maher thinks we should or shouldn't do after his bit last week about opiate/meth addicts. Maybe it's because my old town has turned into opiate/meth country and already claimed a few people I grew up with, I dunno.

Why were you offended by that that? He said people were hurting hence the votes for Trump.

I wouldn't say he's a relic at all. While it's hardly an original insight, his closing bit this week about why liberals turn independents off was spot on. And yeah, it's easy for liberals to say "that's those extreme nuts like JDC, not most of us", but there's clearly enough of them with enough vocal influence to have the negative impact they've had.

I did like how he kinda smacked down the SJW movement. That was kinda surprising.

Why was it surprising? He's been on that beat since before the term "SJW" even existed. His old show was called Politically Incorrect.

It is surprising to me with the amount of democrats he has on the show. I know he has had an issue with Islam for a while, but I thought this stuff was new.

His New Rules last night were spot on again. I related well with his thoughts on what Trump has turned him into.

I also almost completely agree with his stance on Islam, which there was good discussion on.

People like to jab Maher, but he's spot-on with a lot of shit.

I saw the show last night and it was the first good one of the year.

I agree w/ Piers. The left is so in denial mode they can't stop whinging and screaming about any little thing Trump does.

The left elites don't see it, but it's really hurting their image and helping trump to most regular minded people.

I also liked what Maher said about the Immigration EO getting refuted by the courts. He made a good point that it's got personal now with Judges and Trump. When Trump says 'so-called judge', it pisses these people off. An ego of a judge is off the Richter scale. Of course they're going to take things personally and have a vendetta.

Trump needs to learn how to play DC politics now. The POTUS does not have absolute power like a CEO of a company does. Trump needs to find a guy with some political finesse and most of these self created problems will go away.

man i love this show. its so weird how every week, when something happens and you think to yourself an opinion about it- that opinion is spoken live on this show. i dont mean maher is always the one who parrots my thoughts, but if its not him its one of his guests.

last night when that british pierce dude said that freaking out wont help anything, jeffries correctly blurted out "germans didnt freak out when hitler was elected! they gave him a chance!"

i have always been saying this. trump is parallel to hitler right now because everything he has done is what hitler has done up to this point.

sure, trump hasnt shot all of his political opponets, but he is replacing them systematically with 'yes men', just like hitler did. and of course his campaign up to this point is strikingly hitler-esque. you can watch a documentary of hitler's campaign run, and you cant help but think trump has simply copied it.

of course we will see if he starts ww3... but so far he is doing a great job aligning the stars for it. this is why jeffries is right, because the only way to stop that from happening is nip it in the bud early on... dont let trump gain more power than he already has.

Don't like Piers much but he was obviously the rational one in the disagreement between him, Maher, and Jeffries.

Yea but that started wifh him denying its a "muslim ban"

Unless this is fake news didn't we hear that Trump literally asked Guliani how to ban Muslims legally? This is obviously what he came up with of course it is a Muslim ban. I can see why Maher and Jeffries got so upset when he dismissed it and said it wasn't

Morgan only looked level-headed because no one there refuted him well at all. His argument is a lazy oversimplification that is designed to look objective but is really just a defense of Trump. There are certainly people out there who overreact to everything, but the overwhelming criticism is warranted.

Being apathetic to everything isn't "cool." It's dangerous.

This is wrong. He simply pointed out the hyperbole from the left doesn't help their cause.
