Hazing used to be a funny childish thing that was passed on as a kind of hey we are older than you and we took our lumps now take yours kind of right of passage if you will. While this Lake Zurich thing is way over the edge, 20 years ago I saw some of this same shit happen. Kids were getting peed on in the showers all the time. Once they threw this poor midget kid in a locker and... Then there was this guy who had a problem with wanting to stick his dick in peoples ears. Never happened to me, but you can't not end up hearing the story. Several times I had to run naked through the woods, but in the 90s that was probably normal. There was also the one coach who wanted to monitor us in the shower, but thats a whole other story.

Also, of the people I know in Lake Zurich, it is a fiercely competitive town. Their soccer program was crazy. We put our daughter in the local Y where they had a summer rec league for 6-12 year old boys and girls. One of the teams, coached by members of the Y mind you, had these two kids from the travel team, both were 11-12. The one kid slide tackled a 6 year old boy. When I let the coach have it, both she and the kid started screaming at me that this is how the game is played. I sent a scathing email to the person running the league, who then admitted that this whole thing was a setup because they want the travel kids to get more practice time. Fuck them.

i remember back in 6th grade [a time when i'd go out of my way to not draw any attention to myself] there was one random day where as i was in the lockerroom getting changed for gym class about 5-10 random dudes waited til i got down to just my underwear and grabbed me and forced me out of the lockerroom, then locked/barricaded the door shut for about 5-10mins while i had to stand out there and have people point and laugh akin to a TLDR post here.

you know, i'm not one to harbor any kind of seriously malevolent thoughts toward others.... but in the immediate aftermath of that if i thought i could have a decent chance of getting away with it i probably would have tried to kill one of them to prove a point. as it was i just had to settle for getting away with "faceless" stuff like loading a mini squirtgun up for squirting piss into the ventilation slits in their lockers. you know, stuff that was never proven to be me but stuff that i like to think helped to ensure that lockerroom business was a one time deal, which it was.
