Federer, to me, is the greatest men's tennis player of all time. Yes he dominated during a time when men's tennis was on a decline; but he also has been amazing into his mid 30's, and could probably nab another slam or two before he's done. He also won on every surface.

Yeah, but Nadal was better on clay. Like I said, it's hard with men's tennis. There are too many guys in the argument. I was never a fan of Borg, but it would be hard for me to honestly say McEnroe was better even though I rooted for him every time and he beat him enough too. Connors could be in the conversation. He was a boy wonder and then as an old guy when it looked like he was finished he came back and played with those much younger guys and beat them.

Hard thing with tennis, much like golf, is equipment changes. Surface changes have been significant in last 30 odd years too. The grass at Wimbledon has been changed and is now more consistent making the ball skip less and allowing a base line game that was next to impossible 25 years Go. The hard courts have been changed as well with Softness taken out. Wouldn't stun me if they've messed with clay as well, even if it's just to get it to dry faster.

no one can match what he did on clay; but he wasn't all that dominant on other surfaces, and it took him a while to win the 5 other grand slams. he is definitely an all time great, but federer's just got the better resume. and he's still going. he'll be 36 this year. doesn't seem to be broken down like agassi was at 36.

i was never a federer fan, i always wanted someone to beat him (especially roddick) but i still think he's the best of all time.

There is. He played with trash for nearly every year of his career. He played part of his career in an era where receivers could get mugged and QB's could get touched.

My argument here would be that there is a difference between a great passer and a great quarterback.

That's irrelevant when we are talking about all time greats. The second half of his career simply can't compare in any way to the second half of Manning's. If you had Peyton you were going a minimum of 10-6 every year. With Favre you might fuck around and go 4-12.

Drew Brees is better too, Peyton Manning might be the most over rated football player of all time. The year the Colts beat the Bears he had more turnovers than TDs in that post season..he's the only player in NFL history to have more turnovers than TDs in a postseason and win a Superbowl.. They won in spite of him...he had 9 TDs and 17 picks in his final year and played like dogshit and again..Denver won in spite of his shitty play.

Favre had his best statistical season at like 40. He takes the Vikings to the SB if AP doesn't fumble 3 times and if the refs didn't allow him to be mauled.

And if he didn't throw the game losing interception.

His best statistical season was 1996, unless you're only talking about QB rating.

Has Peyton ever thrown six INTs in a playoff game?
