What would really blow Bernstein's mind is when the franchisee loses in court trying to deny the lady unemployment benefits after she is fired for saying "blessed" to customers.

You're playing oppression Olympics here. No one is really taking you seriously if you try to get offended by this.

They must be religious too.
You need to find a new McDonalds if they are saying that to you.

So no answer. I'm not offended because I don't care. Not everyone feels the same way though.

If this type of thing offends you, then you have some a serious persecution complex... oh wait that really does fit Dan. Carry on.

It doesn't offend me but that isn't the point.

Why say it if you aren't projecting religion onto them?

Somebody get Junior Bridgman on the line and ask him what the policy is at one of his hundreds of Wendy's franchises.

Just listened to the segment (3 o'clock hour), and my God it's worse hearing it from his mouth. He knows it's no big deal, he admits he doesn't get mad when people wish him a Merry Christmas, but he just had to (in front of his son) check some God-fearing minimum wage worker's religious privilege and drape himself with the golden arches of the McDonald's Corporation. What an awful human being.

Originally I thought this had happened downtown, so I assumed the worker was a minority, but it was after his kid's hockey practice, so it's likely that the lady was white, overweight, overworked, and underemployed.

When you sneeze and someone says, "God bless" are you offended? Are they injecting religion into your sneeze?
They should say, "You're sooooo good lookin'!"

Fast food restaurants downtown are staffed primarily by underpaid minorities. Is this a blistering take? Also, is it unreasonable to think Dan wouldn't check a minority woman in such a way?

It was Bernstein most likely putting a black women in her place. Because he's racist.

Most people, even if they didn't like the comment, would take their food and leave without responding. Why make a comment to somebody you don't know and will never see again?

Not Dan. He had to teach her what's proper. He was worried about how the suits at McDonalds would think about such a comment.

I'm betting Julie just works there for the food discounts not the extra cash .

If it's a hot ass white blonde waitress at an expensive restaurant telling Dan to have a "Blessed day", I guarantee you he doesn't correct her.

Jesus Rick... I'm one of the most outspoken atheists here... and I still have no idea what your gripe is. Seems like another reason to shit on minimum wage workers.

The more I think about it, the more I return to the notion that Bernstein was trying to show off for his kid. If the little brat is as "woke" as Dan's lies on twitter imply, he would have noticed Dan giving this nice lady The Business, and asked why.

Scrooge was right: if you can't work, yOU should die. (sigh) One of the things Doug Buffone always taught me is how important your office is. I used to see Doug come in during the offseason and hole up in his office, I'd say "Doug, what are you doing here?" and he'd say "aw, I gotta work on something." And that. Stuck with me. I don't even YOOse all my vacation days because I. don't. want. to stay. home. Work...in a lot of ways, is my release. And vacation is great! I love going on vacations! I had a great time in Budapersht. But...(sigh) if you don't want to work as much as you possibly can, then you hate your damn kids and you'd be better off dead, and (sigh) I think it was very brave of Scrooge to broach a...what I feel is a reality that most people don't wish to confront, which is that their lives are worthless and I wish they would die.
