The best seasons were with Dewey Crow and his brother- mother, the worst was Rappaport. Solid show.

You mean Dickie Bennett and Mags and the gang. Season 2.

Dewey Crowe and his brother (Michael Rappaport) is the worst.

I was gonna say, I've been pretty high at times binge watching this show but I'd like to think I'd remember a whole season involving Dewey and his mom

Finally finished it up. Outside of season 5, which was awful, it was a great show. The last season has an argument against season 2 as the best one, IMO. The last scene of the series was perfect too.

We dug coal together.

That's right.

once season one started to steer away from the CASE OF THE WEEK scenario and build up the main conflicts, it really gets moving. I did enjoy the random cameo of characters to fill out those cases though. A lot of guys from Deadwood, Cameron from Ferris Bueller as the Dentist on the run from the mob is a great episode

somehow missed this show when it was on. Just finished season 1. Really looking forward to season 2 after hearing so much about it being the best season.

It is my all time favorite TV show. Minus season 5, it was just perfect.

You may not like it. Just like doctors don't like watching doctor shows, and lawyers don't like watching lawyer shows, you are too close to the subject matter to enjoy it.

Had the week off so I finished up the series today. Man what a great show. I would put it right up there with Breaking Bad for me. So many great characters. Boyd is no doubt one of the greatest tv characters of all time. Raylan was great. Maggs Bennett, Dickie Bennett. And I absolutely LOVED Dewey Crowe. The scene where he is playing Marco Polo with the whores in the pool was tremendous.

Glad you finished it up and enjoyed it.

Really is an all time great show that's criminally underrated

Season 5 is just so awful though. I think it fairly drops it down a tier from Breaking Bad/The Wire/Mad Men territory.

Season 5 was definitely the worst season, but I dont think I would call it awful.

Yeah it was rough with the random Crowes.

There were still some redeeming moments with Dewey.

Dewey and Boyd are still good in 5.

The other crowes are brutal.

Michael Rappaport nearly killed the series.

I think the Haitian wanting out and having to be killed off hurt the season.

He didn't like the way his role was developing and quit.

I think he was going to be a major part of the season and they had to scramble.

Not a very good season but I wouldn't call it awful. I love that show.

I forget why but the actor wanted off the show so they had to scramble to change things up.

Yeah that would be a problem.

I read where Boyd was supposed to be done early in the first season. How crazy that would have been. The show would be awful without him

I'm in the middle of my first re-watch. Season 2 was great, and I thought season 3 was pretty damn good as well. I'll probably be starting season 4 either tonight or tomorrow night, after football.
