Very nicely done. Sometimes comes close to Disney sentimentality but never crosses the line and always has class. Though Costner's character Harrison is the key "benevolent white male" opening the door for a black woman to be a part of NASA's inner circle of mathematicians, it's never played up that he's the real hero (elmhurst steve vibe). these three women (katherine johnson, mary jackson, dorothy vaughan) are always center stage and rightly so. very well played by taraji henson, janelle monae, and octavia spencer respectively.

even big bang theory's sheldon has a nice supporting role as a snooty math scientist. typecast maybe, but fitting.

definitely a feel-good movie and thoroughly entertaining. i'd love to see it win best picture. certainly one of the best of the year, and a great story that maybe took too long to come to light.

:D :D :D :D out of :D :D :D :D

I thought Henson overacted a lot. Any other decent female actress would have been better. Despite her acting it was a great movie.

Agreed. There is really only 1 role that she plays well.

Saw this with the wife a few weeks ago and we both thought it was really good. Can't think of anything I didn't like about the movie. Really enjoyed Mahershala Ali's scenes in it. Also, that song that played whenever Henson's character was running to the bathroom was great.
