This is fantastic! Thanks for letting us know, Dr. Ken! You're making The Board great again. ;-)

Do you do your show from home?

Guess we found out why Mac and Jurko didn't get back together. Jurko decided to blow off Mac and re-up at ESPN. Hopefully, Jurko comes along for the podcasts...I did like their chemistry...I think Mac and Jurko could come closest to rivaling the HFC for best team in sports radio.

I think that would get an immediate draw. If this Parkins thing fails, Mac, Jurko & Spiegs would be fun!

Mac mentioning pretending to be sad about Dale Earnhardt's death in Bristol was outstanding!

It's funny that all the days listening to Mac at The Score, ESPN, back at The Score, I always remember that Sunday afternoon at Ace Hardware listening to Mac on ESPN.

I never have enjoyed a Mac show (HFC was before my time). This was great though. I'd listen to Danny Mac podcast. I think this is the perfect format for him, uncensored and able to give his real thoughts. Well done Doc.

There is certainly an attraction to an unfilterd Mac free from the constraints of a corporate, FCC monitored radio station. I wish we could swap the fishing love for NBA, but then again, Mac being himself is refreshing against the current Chicago Sports landscape.

Five minutes in.... Dan talking about hockey, lord that is glorious and I am a fair weather hockey fan. Actual thoughts.

A monthly show where he can talk about whatever he wants, too bad it'd be tough to make enough money at it.

Nice job, as always, Doc. You definitely go all in on your hobbies! (smoking, The Spreadsheet, the podcast)

You've got a good sound, but Orion is safe.

Great job with this doc.

This here is exactly why Mac is the best chicago sports radio guy ever.

I don't think it was a blow off. Think about it from Jurko's perspective. The guy made all the money he will ever need as a football player. This radio gig is just to remain relevant and cover the normal expenses of life. He has a cushy mid day show with ZERO expectations of him. He could sit there and play the oafish former athlete that ESPN so loves in its shows for the rest of his life. ESPN is stable and corporate. He wakes up late and is home for his kids when school ends. Why would he leave that?

Exactly. Jurko is probably happy and not looking to shake things up and start over.

Also, as much a fan of Mac I am and a friend Jurko is, hitching your financial/career to him recently has been risky.

Jurko doesn't strike me as a particularly ambitious radio personality. Keep on crusin' down easy street.....

Thoroughly enjoyable.

It has been stated by MANY they don't care if the on air folks posts here. I agree as we can create our own thoughts/content and general funniness without them. It is still enjoyable when they do. Hearing the topics on CFMB covered by this on air personality was a hoot. Nothing deep, which was fine.

That was part of my point. Jurko chose the path of least resistance, rather than hitching his wagon to Mac. Rather than meet with Mac and possibly get talked into something, he re-upped with ESPN. Maybe his marraige was falling apart and he didn't want the extra Mackie baggage. Anyway, I'd still like to hear them on the radio again.
