Not as a witch hunt like the Clinton fiasco,if they go at him like the Clinton job It will be bad news for the country. They are going to have to get enough Republicans to flip on an impeachment because from what I gather, the Democrats will not take the Senate back in the 2018 midterms, they won't even be close, even with the POTUS setting himself on fire.

Trump could appoint Putin to replace Flynn as national security advisor and the Republicans still wouldn't impeach him. Ryan and his henchmen are going to get everything they've wanted for a long time, and when it all goes wrong they'll still have Trump to blame. This is an ideal scenario for them--why rock the boat?

Trump gave McConnell's wife a job. No chance he stands in Agent Orange's way.

And he hired the guy who annoyed Paul Ryan the most.

His key people are all insiders, and his policies will be largely right-wing orthodoxy.

He paradoxically employs iconoclastic rhetoric to reinforce the status quo.

When Trump's popularity falls below McConnell's and the rest of the Republicans, you watch how the knives come out.

Don't worry, Trump and Bannon will start a war somewhere--Iran, North Korea, who knows!--to pump his approval rating back up. It's all in the marketing, baby.

I think they would like to not impeach him but he has a serious chance of harming the party significantly if he continues on this path.

They also get Pence who is almost certainly going to be less embarrassing and more Republican than Trump.

I don't think it's entirely fantastical to figure that they'll let him stumble along (barring grievous errors) long enough to rubber-stamp their legislation ... and at some point they'll decide he's outlasted his usefulness and will then wait for any reason that works and they'll give him the chop - unless the intelligence community doesn't fry him first.

Trump's national security team is loaded with insiders from the intelligence community. He has publicly criticized our national intelligence services while privately serving their ends. Like Obama before him, Trump is an empty signifier of political change. His vocabulary is radically populist, but his politics are conventionally elitist.

Since GOOPers control the levers I want Impeachment. Let Trey Gowdy lead the D-E-F-E-N-S-E.
We (The People) finally get to hear all the worse stuff Lightworker did to try and undermine USA. There will be no Leftist Judge telling defense Reps to "cut it out". Leaners out there would flock (heh heh) to AgentOrange.

free press, developing...

Since then, top members of the Obama administration's national security team have launched a communications infrastructure after they left the White House, and have told reporters they are using that infrastructure to undermine Trump's foreign policy.

"It's actually Ben Rhodes, NIAC, and the Iranian mullahs who are celebrating today," said one veteran foreign policy insider who is close to Flynn and the White House. "They know that the number one target is Iran … [and] they all knew their little sacred agreement with Iran was going to go off the books. So they got rid of Flynn before any of the [secret] agreements even surfaced."

Flynn had been preparing to publicize many of the details about the nuclear deal that had been intentionally hidden by the Obama administration as part of its effort to garner support for the deal, these sources said.
-----------------
"It's undeniable that the campaign to discredit Flynn was well underway before Inauguration Day, with a very troublesome and politicized series of leaks designed to undermine him," said one veteran national security adviser with close ties to the White House team. "This pattern reminds me of the lead up to the Iran deal, and probably features the same cast of characters."

You cannot have our own intelligence agents leaking sensitive information to the press.

They should be arrested and thrown in jail.

If Comey, etc. want to write letters and do things in the natural course of their duties, that is fine.

Where does the scoreboard stand at this point?

Is there really any question whether or not Trump is in cahoots with Russia? Is that alone grounds for impeachment?

I don't feel like running the house numbers but you need 20 Republican senators to flip on an impeachment verdict, so far you will have

McCain
Graham
Cruz
Kasich

So 16 more...am I'm missing any?

I would think Rubio before Cruz. The two that flipped on DeVos maybe as well.

Really though, be honest if it gets to the Senate it will be because the GOP decides it gets there and many of the Senators that are 4-6 years out from reelection will go along with it.
