I don't think it's entirely fantastical to figure that they'll let him stumble along (barring grievous errors) long enough to rubber-stamp their legislation ... and at some point they'll decide he's outlasted his usefulness and will then wait for any reason that works and they'll give him the chop - unless the intelligence community doesn't fry him first.

I would think Rubio before Cruz. The two that flipped on DeVos maybe as well.

Maybe you could also throw in Todd Young from Indiana since it would put Pence in the POTUS chair.

Really though, be honest if it gets to the Senate it will be because the GOP decides it gets there and many of the Senators that are 4-6 years out from reelection will go along with it.
