Maybe I will go up for this. Founders' place up in Grand Rapids was outstanding. I left there very impressed.

KBS: What we’ve got here is an imperial stout brewed with a massive amount of coffee and chocolates, then cave-aged in oak bourbon barrels for an entire year to make sure wonderful bourbon undertones come through in the finish. Makes your taste buds squeal with delight.

We will be selling this product in our taproom using a controlled five-day, pre-ticketed release, similar to previous releases. Tickets go on-sale Saturday, February 14, 2015 at 11am EST.

*Keep in mind, tickets for this event are in very high demand, and we expect tickets to sell out quickly.

Each ticket reserves the right to purchase up to TWO 4-packs of KBS (max of 8 bottles total), at $20 per 4-pack (tax and deposit are included), ONLY on the date specified on your ticket, and ONLY by the person listed on the ticket. All reserved KBS 4-packs are to be picked up at the brewery in Grand Rapids, MI during pick-up hours (Noon-9pm EST).

You may buy ONE ticket for ONE of the following days:

~DAY #1. Tuesday, March 10, 2015

~DAY #2. Wednesday, March 11, 2015

~DAY #3. Thursday, March 12, 2015

~DAY #4. Friday, March 13, 2015

~DAY #5. Saturday, March 14, 2015

By purchasing this ticket, you are securing your rights to purchase up to (2) 4-packs (8 bottles) of KBS, ONLY on the specific date listed on your ticket. All ticket holders for any given date are required to make their purchase only ON THE DATE listed on their ticket, IN PERSON, or will forfeit the opportunity. Refunds will not be issued for unused or lost tickets.

Any allotted bottles that are not purchased on their given date will be added to the reserve inventory, which will be released at a future unannounced date in our taproom.

All ticket holders are required to have their ticket, as well as a valid ID, as recognized by the Michigan Liquor Control Commission, and will be required to pay for (via cash or credit card) and pick-up their product, both in person, on that given day.

Due to overwhelming feedback regarding the ability to reduce scalping, we have returned to the "Name Specific" tickets. Each ticket is assigned to the purchaser and CANNOT BE TRANSFERRED - NO EXCEPTIONS. If you are not sure if you are able to complete your purchase on the date specified on your ticket, do not purchase a ticket.

All proceeds from ticket sales will be contributed to the Grand Rapids White Water initiative.

It's not a one time event like the Goose Island BCBS. You have to get to Binny's, or wherever, when they get their shipment.

I have been going for the past few years and last year was much better in respect to the line as they give you a personalized ticket -- then you show up with your ID and the side door whenever during that week and get your beer. I think I waited all of 20 seconds last year.

The downside is you lose the hanging out in line camaraderie that goes along with it, but getting in line at 4 AM during a March winter in Michigan isn't really that great. Plus you had line cutters all over the place which sucks for people who toughed it out until 2 PM and get nothing.

From their perspective, it makes sense to pre-ticket as it cuts down on the hard feelings and people who do show up to pick up their beer often visit the tap room so they can get some more money out of you.

I went last year. Drove up on a Friday and stayed in Grand Rapids through Sunday. There are tickets available for each day. You are required to pick up your beer on the day you purchased your ticket for. The pick-up times are normally something like 11:00 AM through 9:00 PM each day. When I picked up my beer, there might have been two people in line waiting in front of me. The process should even be faster this year because Founders is collecting all the money online when you pay for your ticket. So this year you will just need to walk up to the window, hand over your ticket, and get your beer.

With that being said, the brewery is a disaster on Saturday. I would not purchase tickets for that day. They tap KBS at the brewery on this day, so it's a mob there. I walked over to the brewery on that Saturday morning and the line to get in was snaked around the entire building. It probably would have taken hours just to get inside. However, there are many local bars in downtown GR rapids that tap KBS throughout the week, so there are MANY opportunities to try it.

I would definitely recommend trying to go. Grand Rapids is a great little city and there are lots of great breweries in that area.

Good to hear no lines of beer nerds for bottle pickup. Very few things are worse in this world than a line of beer chasing clowns.

Tickets sell out in about 10 seconds, so you definitely need to be online and ready to go Saturday morning at the on-sale time.

I bought a bong in Grand Rapids. There were two head shops up there back in the late 90's.

I'm planning a weekend around going to a bodega in Pilsen for when they get a shipment of cane sugar Pepsi.
