Rumor has it Lester can't signal the intentional walk.

Dumb. Were intentional walks slowing down the game? So unnecessary.

I'd guess that an at bat that results in an intentional walk is a faster plate appearance than about 70% of regular plate appearances.

Batter stands in box whole time and pitcher lobs 4 consecutive pitches. This is way quicker than a regular at bat where the pitcher stares down the catcher for 30 seconds and after every pitch the batter does a lap around the on deck circle before getting ready for the next pitch.

Yeah, it's dumb. The thing that slows the game down is the commercials. Obviously, MLB can't acknowledge that so they look for ways to fuck with the game itself.

I believe Maddon can just signal in weakly hit ground ball to second and he can go back in the dugout.

I could have sworn that if a pitcher goes to his mouth 4 times(while on the rubber),it's automatically called a ball.

They are trying to cut down on the time games take for the sake of younger fans who don't like the pace. Fuck those attention deficit riddled bastards. Leave the game alone! The numbers that Baseball put up this past fall, show Baseball was on a roll. The Cubs doing well may well have played into it, so if anything, change the rules so the DH can be employed by the N.L. teams and then Schwarber can DH regularly. With Almora in CF, Heyward (reluctantly) in RF and Zobrist in LF, so Baez can play 2B regularly. Now that, would be a good rules change.

Can you edit that into a minimum of third grade competency?

I think the specialization of relief pitching is one of the really big impacts on the game. You put a LOOGY up like Orosco and you've just added 10+ minutes to the game. Would be interesting if they limited your warm-up pitches to innings instead of substitutions.

No, wait. Change one rule so that it benefits my team!

The pitching changes have definitely added to the length of the games. Also, too many young guys grew up watching Ivan Rodriguez and Jorge Posada constantly running out to the mound. A rule change that I would not object to would be if ANY trip to the mound by ANY member of the team counted as a mound visit for purposes of the pitcher having to be removed from the game.

Baseball games are kind of boring but they would be a lot less boring if there weren't so many games.

The NHL and NBA do just fine with half as many games.

I'd probably be a big baseball fan if the playoffs ended in early September.

I'd be a big football fan if they just flipped coins to see who would play the Patriots in the Super Bowl. The season is unnecessary.

Like a true Democrat, you take part of the statement and leave out the rest. I say they should leave the game alone, but IF any change should be made, it would be to implement the DH in the NL, so the rules are the same throughout Baseball.
