I don't know that she was a strategist, though I imagine she was to some extent. But her willingness to get in front of the electorate and say adamantly that Trump didn't mean what he said over and over and over and over and over was commendable. I don't think I could keep a straight face that long.

I do think that she gave legitimacy and talking points to those who already decided they would defend Trump. She is very good at what she does.
