i cant imagine one single person who thinks rose should have a retired jersey in chicago. he barely deserves a plaque in the bathroom stating he only got the mvp he did because lebron had a semi off year.

Handing it out the first year he's gone? Eh, they can find another number ... perhaps they might first play basketball at (at least) a semi-professional level consistently before worrying about what number they're wearing.

I don't think they should retire his number but it's not like even considering it is stupid. Rose did win MVP, ROY, and was the best player the Bulls ever had after MJ. He also was a top 5 NBA player prior to his injury.

He was Top 10 before the injuries. Top 5 is a stretch.

He should not have his number retired. 2 good seasons, and 1 MVP season does not earn a jersey retirement. I'd consider Deng, Noah, or Kirk over Rose and I don't even think they deserve it either.

he had a few more accolades but he was kind of like the kerry wood of the bulls. short lived, great for a short time, but couldn't stay healthy. the difference is his leaving was more sammy sosa-esque.

Rose was good for more than 1 game.

I don't really care either way but I'd say some fans love that 62-20 team to a truly ridiculous extent since I've seen debates about whether Noah and Gibson should have their numbers retired too.

I think he was higher in the NBA totem pole than you're giving him credit for. The only players you'd take over him at the time were Durant and LBJ. Probably go either way between him and Wade and Howard was good at the time as well. Other than those players I can't think of anyone you'd debate taking over Rose at the time.
