This board is funny. When you make a suggestion that perhaps there are sexually mature 14 and 15 year olds out there you get called a pedophile. When you advocate for beating the fuck out of a six year old you find wide support.

I wasn't beefing with a kid. I wasn't going to fight a kid. I didn't bring it up to the dad when he came to pick up his son. I was pissed because that's not the type of kid I want to raise and I wont. The boy who hit my son isn't getting the attention he needs from home and that truly sucks because all kids deserve a chance to grow up to be decent human beings and that starts with the parents.

When the kids get hurt parents go crazy..or should.

My son was at a lazer tag birthday party last weekend (he's 4 1/2 and the party was for a 6 year old). Anyway he ran up and shot some kid and the kid got upset and smashed his shoulder into my son's mouth making my son cry. He did it on purpose and I saw everything happen as I was one of the adults supervising. I was ready to fight the family of the kid and the kid himself.

Long time reader....I'm not sure I get all of this place.

You wanted to fight a 6 year old because he bumped into your 4 year old?

He didn't bump into my son. He grabbed my son and threw his shoulder into my sons jaw (hurting him on purpose) because my son shot him in lazer tag and he was pissed.
As a parent if your first instinct isn't to protect your kids from getting hurt or rush to their defense when they're hurt then I don't know what to say. Seeing your child specifically targeted for harm ( no matter who is doing it ) is a lot different from being an over-protective helicopter parent .

Yes. I think I told this story, but when my daughter was 18 months or so, we were at a party and two girls who were 4 or 5 kicked her out of the play room and were ramming her with a wagon every time she tried to come back in (and blocking the door). I was fuming. Of course, I just grabbed my daughter and walked away, but it took will power not to let loose (verbally) on those girls.

Of course... You're instinct is to protect. Doesn't mean you are going to pick up a 5 year old and pile drive them or verbally destroy a 9 year old. There is a huge difference in feeling it and doing it.

I would have really really liked to have grabbed a kid by the collar and chewed him out, but I'd be the one arrested.

Technically speaking Chris did include the kid along with his parent in the reprisal threat.

I interpreted it as meaning he would have liked to, not that he actually would have. I realize that's not literally what he said, but unless he's an unhinged psychopath, I doubt he's really coming on and admitting he would have beat the shit out of a 6 year old.

You could probably just change this thread to "Asshole Kids' Sports Parents."

I was at my 4th grade daughter's basketball game yesterday and some asshole parent was screaming at the refs and "his" team for the entire game. He was worked up enough that I'd swear he had money on the game.

My daughter's team won 14-10. :D

I once yelled at a 10 year old for playing dirty soccer at the end of the game when we shook hands with the other team(I was the HC). He tripped my son and when my son pushed him to the ground,he got ejected. I had about 14 sets of parents booing me and I loved it!

Jesus Christ, that's fucking embarrassing. In high school and college, I used to referee and make good money for a kid that age... but it if wasn't for the fact that I could make five or six-hundred bucks in a weekend, there's no way I would have done that job. Parents are ridiculous. They would bitch that I didn't call every travelling violation for grade schoolers. If we'd called every travelling violation, the game never would have fucking ended.

I was at a game between a Catholic and a Christian school this past fall. Junior high Girls basketball. Ref almost had to toss people from the stands, was almost a brawl between a woman fan and a male coach after game. A lot of really hard fouls seemingly encouraged from the bench (Team that was losing) and just bad sportsmanship throughout. Junior High, terrible girls basketball. Not one of those kids will likely play in highschool. Awful.

I was at my daughter's soccer game last October and there was another game going on before it. One of the girls got injured, the parents of the other team started cheering. This was a U8 soccer game. People are the worst.

Dramatic facebook friend who is always searching for acceptance and never is around on the weekend with her kids doesn't understand why her son still shits his pants at 6 years old.

Unfortunately yeah. She's always looking for assurance from Facebook friends telling her that she's a good mom. Due to our twisted circle of friends the truth comes out they keep ditching the kids off every chance they get with the grandparents.

I knew a Sheehy family back in the day. Big, loud mouthed but ultimately good guy that are fairly common in the Roger's Park area. We didn't go to high school together but we ran in the same circles. I didn't see him for about 10 years after high school. Then I saw him on a street downtown and we got to talking. He told me he was an engineer. I said that was great and knew it was hard work as my wife was as well. I asked what kind and he said "custodial", which was kind of awkward for both of us. I've seen him much more often now and he married an insanely hot women far over what one would expect for his personal appearance, so it is not the same Sheehy.
