the story of the real guy is incredible; but gibson really likes to pour it on and from the trailers i've seen it kinda looks over the top.

Definitely a bit over the top, but doesn't detract from the story.

It was pretty cool in theaters. One of the loudest movies I've ever seen.

Thought about taking my son but my wife would have flipped out.

I let my 8 year old son watch it. Had this been a fictional movie, absolutely not, but I have no problem with him watching historical war movies. I also let him watch Fury.

I probably would too but not worth raising my wife's ire. We'll get there in a couple years.

My wife can be really annoying. Not worth it.

It was a good movie, the action/battle sequences were incredible. My grandfather saw some horrible things on Okinawa, I was always
too intimidated to ask him about it when I was a kid. I wrote my uncle on Friday since I knew I was watching the movie this weekend
and he gave me all the info he had on the history. Was at Guadalcanal and Okinawa and between those battles and the kamikazes
trying to take out their ship he said that even he never got my grandfather to open up about everything. The movie is a good watch
and a majority of what is in there is true from what I have read.

Watched it on the plane to Punta Cana (thank you torrents). My wife normally hates war movies but she really enjoyed this, as did I.

It was great; beautiful beach right there, several pools from which to choose, our own outdoor hot tub, fun on-property casino and sports bar (they even showed the blackhawks games, including Saturday's 11pm local time puck drop). And unlike Mexico it didn't feel like people were trying to sell you stuff all the time.

The food, while I wouldn't call great, was generally very good. The direct flight was also a huge plus (met a couple from LA -- They had some ridiculous long flight plus a connection in Panama!).

4 nights was the perfect amount of time. Booked it through Costco travel. Would definitely use them again (we already have a September cruise booked through them).

You just went somewhere too, right? Playa de Carmen? How was that?

Ours was great. Perfect relaxation spot. Good and service also very good. I had the same read on food in PC. Good but not awesome and lacked something I like better in Mexico.
