WOW! Content wise that speech was hot garbage. An hour filled with unworkable contradictions.

Love the bouquets being thrown his way after the speech for sounding normal. What a standard we demand today

This is also true. He sounded presidential. For him that is progress.

Welcome to the new American norm.

I'm trying to figure out which reality show star will be our next President.

The "presidential" part of the office has been eroding for many years. Started becoming more casual when Clinton ran and played sax on Aresnio. Or maybe it was Reagan riding his horses? Anyway, that isn't important. The "office" will go the way of sport coats on planes.

I am saying that while Trump is an over the top unpresidential person there has been a erosion in general for some time. There seems to be a casualness and lack of dignity for lack of a better word growing since the 90's.

Great speech. Some of you are just haters, I get it.

I wonder what traumatic experience happens to a white man in his life that makes him become a liberal.

W Bush was a cowboy and Obama played golf and basketball, but I don't think either of them were 'undignified' when they needed to be. If a President plays sax, rides a horse, or goes golfing, it shows me that he is an actual human and not a machine.

I realize that and that is why I used dignity for lack of a better word. I am not comparing anything to the outlandishness that is Trump. I am simply making an observation that over time it is less formal I guess.

The speech just goes to show that Trump could give his best speech and people still hate him.

So people should stop hating him because of one speech?

All he actually did yesterday was sign a bill that reestablished the right of people on complete disability to freely buy firearms. Think about that one, he fought for people who cannot be trusted to sign a check to easily buy guns.

And everthing else was he and the republicans reading the words of bigots like Bannon to block the release of his taxes to cover up his relationship with the Russians and make it easier for fossil fuel companies to enjoy record profits while polluting flyover country. Or encourage the idiotic discussions about how the grifter in chief is "starting to sound presidential".

Collectively this country looks as stupid as any time since patent medicines were the rage.

 This had me thinking yesterday of a Trump criticism that I found slightly amusing and puzzling. I have read people on the left shouting about how the right has been shouting to repeal Obamacare but have been unable or unwilling to do it right away. If that is the case shouldn't that make the left happy not mad?

Donald Trump is not conservative.

But his enablers in the republican party all claim to be.

But there aren't any questions about how he's paying for his vague fantasyland proposals, despite 8 years of that being of paramount importance to MANY. Allegedly

Last night was basically President Trump's first State of the Union.

Propose grand ideas and a generic "vision" for the country.

Figuring out the details is someone else's department.

I'm eager to see the rollout of the Victims of Immigrant Crime Engagement agency that Bannon created.

The details of the agency's purpose I'm sure will be really helpful for all Americans.

Of course he didn't. He probably still hasn't read the one sentence EPA Repeal Bill.

It's one of 2 thing IMO.

1. Because his rally was cancelled last year at UIC.

2. Obama warned Trump that Rahm was interested in the Presidency.

I dunno

I would think it's the rally more than anything else

I think most people acknowledge that parts of the ACA aren't working and need to be fixed. However, there are parts that should be kept.

The right spent YEARS wasting time by voting (and knowing it'd fail) to repeal it. YEARS. Now they have their chance and they have absolutely no idea what to do with it? WTF?
