1) Spiegs admitting he would dump Parkins now for Rozner

2) Several Score employees hate Parkins

3) Spiegs openly talking shit towards Bernstein on air

4) Politics/ social justice issues becoming daily segments

It's only a matter of time before the ratings collapse. The end times are near!

This has to be pretty good for ratings.

As long as the Cubbies keep winning, there will be a collapse in the host salary structure, before there is one in the ratings.

I'm curious, but what have their books been since baseball season ended? I'd imagine they are in the toilet

The funny thing about the nazi frogs is that they go on and on and on about "European superiority" but ingest only low culture from Japan. At least listen to some Wagner, you fucking turds.

Rongey intimated that there was a lot of resentment from the B-team about a guy working in Kansas City jumping the line on them, and Leery said more or less the same in an interview.

I would imagine a lot of the behind the scenes guys want to eventually be the on the mic guys and figure they just have to put in their dues to get promoted, but you're making $40k(?) as an engineer for years and years, and then some punk from KC takes an open spot... has to piss them off. They would have loved to see Sir moved up to middays and the overnight be open for another in house guy, I'm sure.

Edit: I looked up Broadcast Engineer salary, and the median is 59k, with 39k on the low end and 93k on the high end.

Whoa, don't confuse producers with engineers. Different jobs, and I don't think most engineers aspire to be on the air.

Thank you CH, good catch... 37k median with 25k on the low end and 72k on the high end. Check the charts here: http://www.payscale.com/research/US/Job ... cer/Salary

I like the idea of Drinky as chief engineer, though. "Ahhh, Mitch. Mitch. Mitch. Mitch. The, ahhhhhhh, transmitter's down, Mitch, it, ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhh, I dunno what happened."

Must be some kind of leverage Larry has to say that and then ink a new deal with the station he resents so much. He should try fir a daytime slot in Atlanta!

Good catch.

And many radio engineers aspire not to even be spoken to.

What the score has turned into is a complete shame. With the exception of overnights and the morning show, the lineup has never been as weak as it is now.

Keep Parkins, dump literally everyone else at the station.

I was always a B&B ALSer. Even as things started to spiral I would listen as often as I could. Dan and Jason is just terrible radio. They think everything they say is either super insightful or hilarious. I can barely even listen. I tried W&S and that is just as bad as I remember it being. I'm lost in the wilderness of afternoon sports radio.

As long as they have the Cubs, the Score is solid. I doubt they even give a shit about profit margin as long as the station value is high, which I'm sure it is.

The lineup should be called Danny B. and The Weekenders.

Huh? It's precisely because CBS cares a lot about its bottom line that we are forced to endure the tenure of barely sentient hosts like Goff, Parkins, Spiegel, etc. They are a bunch of low-rent nobodies who command little more than a half-masticated turkey bone for salary in the "free market". CBS paid lavishly for the Cubs, but it seems to be cutting the budget everywhere else.

Yeah, I think its more like as long as the Cubs are doing well, and if you read that Coppeck article in Other Chicago Media it sounds like it they sales are good, it allows them to put low rent garbage on the station and keep that part of costs down. I'm not in the car as much as I am in other times of they year so I'm not listening nearly as much as say May-October but I'm listening to a lot more music these days when I am car bound.

This kind of rivalry is good for rating with the correct on air talent.
