Well 1st we have to start with the notion that Capitol Punishment has been the law of the land in many states for long time now.

Secondly, that means the argument isnt about depolying a death penalty rather, the arrgument centers on repealing it. I don't think it was justified to repeal it in ILLINOIS in 2010. It should be reformed, not repealed.

That might be the worst defended argument I've ever read on this board.

"We've always done it that way" is one of most illogical reasons I can think of for continuing to do something.

We're the only Western country that still employs the death penalty. We are one of only four industrialized countries in the world to still employ it. Seems to me the onus is on those who advocate for it still.

I have a zero tolerance policy for crimes against children. When you harm a child and are proven guilty be beyond a reasonable doubt, the punishment should be unthinkable. Life in prison, IMO, isn't an unthinkable punishment.

If you think there a punitive limits we can apply to child predators, it also means you don't have a zero tolerance policy towards them.

Arguing FOR cruel and unusual punishments is not something I see very often.
