somehow i remember when i first got my car, a renewal was like $40. i could understand if this shit increased in-line with inflation... or a little faster than that... but this sudden 50% increase is bullshit.

I remember illinois doubling theirs back in like 2005 or so... what is it now?

Wisconsinites are the worst fucking drivers on the face of the earth. Each time one of you ass hole Wisconsin drivers goes 65 in the left lane you should get a $100 fine and be shot in the leg.

The Kwik Trip in Eau Claire, WI has reg. unleaded for $2.34 today. Same price as the Speedway on North Ave in Glen Ellyn.

I don't get why Illinois people flock to Wisconsin. Michigan is nicer and the people don't hate you. The traffic in Indiana sucks but Wisconsin struggles at peak times too.

We used to always go there for a day trip in the summer. Michigan is nice, but I hate trying to go through the traffic around the Indiana/Illinois border to get there. Being Northwest makes Wisconsin so much easier especially with I-90's expansion all done. I get out to Rockford in 30 minutes.

Michigan in the summer is awesome. Going in June is the best due to the weather, and them being on the far Western edge of the time zone keeps it dusk until about 10pm.

We do Michigan every summer. I'd actually prefer Wisconsin but the mother in law does it as her family vacation so I go, drink beer and grill for a week. It could be worse and the kids have fun. Might bring the golf clubs up this year and go play since I took that sport up again for the first time in 25 years. That being said, the local's I know up there also call folks from Chicago FIB's so I'm not sure they like you all that much better than the Wisconsinites. At least from New Buffalo to St. Joe.

That's Dupage county, right? It was $2.59 an hour ago at the Mobile on Rand and Kennicott in Arlington Heights.

about six years ago when we had our first kid I had a 96 camaro SS that couldn't pass emissions and I got six of trying to fake it so the car sat in my garage. And there it sat for a year and a half in my post child daze. By the time I tried to renew it I was 19 months late. I expected major fines but it sat long enough that the places were purged and I was charged the price of registring a new car and got brand new plates.

A small gain considering I destroyed the fuel system and had to replaces the gas tank and lines.

yeah i mean i guess i could have lied and said the truck wasn't used last year... but its my only vehicle and i know im on databases from the illinois toll system and likely countless plate readers... i might have got away with it now, but there would always be a digital trail that im sure they would have stung me on eventually
