No idea how I missed this show last year but it's a great Sci-fi series airing conveniently on SyFy.

Set in a future where humanity has colonized the Solar System, it follows United Nations executive Chrisjen Avasarala (Shohreh Aghdashloo), police detective Josephus Miller (Thomas Jane), and ship's officer Jim Holden (Steven Strait) and his crew as they unravel a conspiracy that threatens peace in the system and the survival of humanity.

Through the first 4 episodes and the show has been SOLID.

Not to go to the cliché but...
The books are way better. I read the books first and they made some creative choices with the show that I didn't like.

Interesting.

Is the book series done? I don't want to start it and then get into a Game of Thrones situation.

It's not 'done' but it does tell a complete story or two. It is worth picking up.

Season 3 starts up next week.

Earth and Mars and The Belt all on the brink of war. And they all have the protomolecule.

Interested to see what happened on Venus and see if anyone is still alive.

on demand does nothing to help this show. the viewing order is constantly screwed up and the previous seasons are always pay to view.

Amazon Prime has both seasons for free.

on demand can be a real pain in the ass. when "x-files" was running season 11, you had to find it in a separate section from TV Shows - T-Z - X-Files.

and had to watch commercials, because the FF was disabled.

i use amazon prime for "Mr. Robot" but my SMRT BluRay has been wonky a few times and sometimes it buffers for minutes at a time. feels like i'm back in 2005.

Season 3 premiere was good, if a bit slow. It did set up MANY storylines for the season.

Mars and Earth are going to war.

The Belt is looking to unite.

The crew of the Rocinonte is going to Io to try and find Mei.

Bobbie and Crisjen escaped in one ship, while Ctyar and a a random pilot escape on another.

Errinwright is trying to paint Crisjen as the traitor to the UN back on Earth but she has evidence proving it was him.

And something is still up on Venus.

I'll third that the books do indeed own. Yeah, they're 500-600 pages each, but it's easier to read than GOT because the author doesn't spend pages describing different groups costumes and sigils.

I just started this series on Prime. It's fantastic and I'm glad Amazon picked it up for future seasons after SciFi canceled it.

I'm through 7 of the 8 books released so far and they are outstanding.

Having watched the sbow first I have the characters in my head from the show.

Hopefully the show gets to tackle all the plots from the books.

Season 7-9 would be nuts if so.

Just started this. It is pretty good, but it is all over the place through the first 3 or 4 episodes.
