That's a fine strategy. When I first got married, we did that with our GM Mastercard. What I found though is that when you spend on a credit card, you tend to buy more than when you use cash. If we go out to eat or shop, we solely use a debit card, which also makes you think twice about how much you spend. For large purchases, particularly online, we use our credit card. Ours is also on autopay.
Unless there is an unusual purchase such as auto repairs, my bill is almost the exact same every month.
