this game is setting back modern era basketball easily 25 years. 17-17 at halftime?

Vince, How do you like Todd now? Yes he is the anti-Alford, but for this lifetime Hawkeyes fan, I've never seen a more boring brand of basketball. It's sad to see all the empty seats in Carver Hawkeye. And it has little to do with wins and losses. Iowa fans filled many a Fieldhouse and Carver Hawkeye to watch average teams. But never such a boring one. Average players overachieving in taffy pulls works at Butler. It's a yawn in the Big Ten. It's a depressing time to be a Hawkeye.

I still like Todd. Alford left the cupboard bare and this team is horrible. Lickliter will need two years of getting his guys before I give him a fair assessment. The offense is a bit bland, but Lickliter doesn't have the big men he wants right now. Seth Gorney had been a bit of a surprise since he did nothing for Alford for 3 years and Cyrus Tate for a freshman has done more than expected. Team have been able to set up in zones and force the Hawkeyes to shoot 3's which they have done ok. I said all along 500 would be a great year for the Hawks and it looks like they will come up just short.

Come back to me in two years and I'll let you know what I think of Todd. :-)

Iowa was the tallest midget in that game. Actually NU-17, IOWA-15 at half. Ugly b-ball. Congrats on the win. Wildcats are on the road to a winless conference season. Thank God Women's Softball and Lacrosse (my two new favorite sports  ) is starting up again.

FIRE CARMODY NOW

That's an understatement though leading by 14 in the second half and absolutely collapsing should help the cause to move Carmody out of town.

Yep. Iowa has literally one guy on the roster that could start for Iowa State and that's Tony Freeman. Justin Johnson would be coming off the bench for any good team, Jake Kelly would have redshirted and Gorney/Looby/Tate would provide depth.

If any of you guys are going to the Iowa-NU rematch on March 4 in Evanston, PM me. I"ll offer the opportunity to hook up for a pregame cocktail at my place (just a few blocks from Welsh Ryan).

I was just there last weekend! :) That's ok, Tommy Nevin's was more than willing to do the same.

Would have took you up on the offer but won't be in any shape after back surgery the week before. I'll have to deal with the Big Ten Network guys.

By the way, looks like Iowa attendance is just as bad as NU. Carver-Hawkeye looked about as vacant on Tuesday as Welsh-Ryan. I hope that's just because they were playing NU. I thought the Hawkeyes weren't the bandwagon type.
