Who do you guys enjoy seeing in an action movie?

I think Arnold & Sly have made some good action flicks even within the past 10 years or so. Sabotage was a gruesome movie but very entertaining. I enjoyed the last Terminator and love those Expendable movies, especially the 3rd one with Mel Gibson.

I think action movies suck, so I'd go with great actors that were in a couple " action" fliks.

Mel Gibson or Harrison Ford

I'd be willing to listen to an argument for him being the greatest, but to pass it off as a slam dunk that isn't even worth discussing? Get that weak shit out of here. I'd say Arnold is certainly in the running for "greatest"...

Personal favorite body of work would probably be Harrison Ford. Single piece of work would be Denzel in Man on Fire.

Honorable mention to Connery's old ass in The Rock.

cruise has been in some great action flicks, but branding himself as an action star has always been kind of laughable to me. he's a skinny little pipsqueak who would be eaten alive by the machismo of the 80's action stars.

eastwood, seagal, norris, schwarzenegger, mcqueen, stallone, bronson, weathers, the rock, connery, van damme, statham, gibson and willis. those are action stars.

No to Tom Cruise. I could fuck him up no problem. Him being portrayed as a bad ass is laughable. Same for Liam Neeson.

It's like trying to portray IMU as a badass.

Was always a Wesley Snipes guy. Funny he didn't think federal income taxes applied to him. And Jackie Chan, sneaky funny. Rumble in the Bronx.

What are these great Cruise fliks I'm missing? I'm with hockeygay, can't buy him or Liam Neesen as tough guys. Neesen looks like big bird running out of a burning building and both are old.

I saw somebody mentioned Man on Fire, great flik..the Bourne movies as well.

I enjoyed the early Steven Segal flicks through Under Siege.

Wesley Snipes really was on the cusp of greatness before he got pinched.

Liam Neeson is the worst.

I think it has to be Arnold. He was always more charismatic than the others and, of course, he looked like he would be able to beat down most people. All of you saying Cruise is puny cannot vote for Stallone.

I think Daniel Craig has been an excellent action star. His work gets lost in the Bond character.

*Cruise is still doing his own stunts at 54.
*Only the James Bond movies and pre-Crystal Skull Indiana Jones are superior to Mission:Impossible as action-adventure (not including sci-fi) franchises
*Edge of Tomorrow and Minority Report are two of the best sci-fi action movies of the last 20 years, both star Cruise
*Crossover appeal: Jerry Maguire, Vanilla Sky, Risky Business
*Starred in a fucking Kubrick film. I dont think Stan was particularly interested in Stallone or Arnold
*Great in cameos, Tropic Thunder
*Even his shitty movies like The Last Samurai or Top Gun aren't bad because of him. He still elevates those trash movies to being at least watchable.

I don't know what goes on in his private life, but I can't argue with anything you stated here. I love the M:I movies. The only franchise besides Captain America that keeps getting better.

I think Cruise creates his own troubles but at times gets a bad rap. He has made good movies. The recent Jack whatever ones recently I have found entertaining.
