Would the Cub have passed on Schwarber if Rodon was still available?

I'd still trade Schwarber for Rodon right now, assuming Rodon doesn't need surgery.

Rodon was the can't miss prospect and they might have ruined him. Why the hell did they have him skip AA? That is probably the most valuable stop from a learning/development perspective on the minor league circuit.

Is it more difficult to get injured in AA?

Yeah, that doesn't make any sense to me either. An injury wasn't going to be more or less likely because he skipped AA. It's just an unfortunate thing he will have to deal with and if he needs UCL surgery, it probably came at a good time, as the team is not going to contend in 2017 anyway. Just have to hope he can fully recover. Some come back throwing even harder.

He'll start the year on the 10 day DL...no structural damage means he's fine.

He probably did some stupid workout he shouldn't have done. The Sox are extremely cautious about this shit, other orgs probably would've seen him mow guys down in ST start and decided he was fine despite the discomfort.

I remember in 2010, 2012, 2013, 2014, & 2015 when Sale's arm was supposed to fall off...
