Can't jump to block a field goal anymore. Next summer I'm guessing they go all the way and just say you're not allowed to play football during football games anymore.

You can still just can't jump over the line. If you made contact when you jumped it was already a penalty. We need this rule at every level.

Yeah they claimed the O line was trying to touch these guys mid air and they would/could flip and break their necks etc.

Ridiculous.

A blocked FG is one of the greatest plays in football. Now Walter Payton will have to personally lift someone. Who was even lobbying for this rule change?

21 FG's blocked last season, 24 the season before that. That makes for a 2.3% average Field Goal Block Rate over the last two years. With an average FG% of 84% over that time, kicking has become way too easy.

That's what I was wondering...you'd think the owners would be in favor of the extra excitement. If it had been any team other than the Patriots, I don't think it would have even been proposed.
