Saw this on Saturday afternoon. The acting was outstanding and while I knew what the story was going to be about,
it was really damn sad. The movie was also about 2.5 hours long which was a bit more than I would have liked.
I'd be surprised if it isn't up for Oscar for best movie and probably best actor. I recommend it if you like to see the
movies that are going to in the mix for awards season early next year.

Just watched this the other day and can agree that the Best Actor award was deserved. I also agree that it wasn't the best picture... the thing is so depressing. I mean really depressing. Best picture needs some other notes, but definitely a great movie, and worth a watch.

I thought it was depressing and not real easy to follow when drinking.

yea I watched this, it was good but as others have said just wall to wall depression. I can't believe people went and saw a movie like this in the theatre. 100% no one who went on a date got laid that night.

"overheard" some crap on NPR about the dude who wrote this. He said he goal before writing was to come up with the most depressing story he could think of. kind of a challenge to himself.

yeah the hell I'm going to watch something like that.

This just is not that good. You can tell the "big reveal" after the first flashback. It's basically bad stuff happens with zero redemption.

finally got around to this. actually, it turned into kind of a lucas hodges trilogy weekend. "Lady Bird", "3 Billboards", and this.

really gut-wrenching film, but it's not just about grief and the inability to move on from it. the guy is damaged beyond saving, but the redemption is his coming to face it with emotion, which at least can break depression.

it's definitely not a movie to watch more than once, but it has some extremely emotional scenes.

affleck was perfectly cast. he just exudes agony. no wonder he's a shit in real life.

i found it very absorbing, and i'm glad i waited to see it. the boston cineverse is rivaling marvel as far as how expansive it is. but this, at its core, is very honest about pain and guilt.

also makes you feel a lot better about your own life afterwards.

:D :D :D out of :D :D :D :D

I thought it was great. There are things you don't overcome in life. I never cry at movies and I sobbed watching this.
