Most teams have tickets good only on the makeup date, which is bullshit IMO. A saturday night ticket is then only good for a Thursday afternoon. The Sox have done that in the past. At least they realize there will be MANY empty seats, and are giving the fans some sort of option that isnt a free upper deck ticket.

Blocking the Buehrle day is a dick move though.

You know the reason they are blocking off 56Day is they know the type of people who bought tickets for Opening Day and will also buy tickets for that. So they dont want them just deciding to skip Tuesday's game and use their opening day passes to reserve tickets they were gonna buy anyway.

Didn't hear veteran Sox PA Announcer, Gene Honda, yesterday. Has he been replaced?

The Buehrle game is pretty well sold already.

How many calls are M&H going to take from upset opening day fans? It rained. Shocker.

That really is the funny thing. People are mad they got people in the park, did the ceremony and yes made some parking and concession money with the slightest chance of getting the game in. Many people like that also barbecues Reinsdorf and the Sox those times they called games at 10 in the morning for that night it looked unlikely to get it in.

Every baseball fan knows the risks of weather related cancellations that are heightened in April. Like it was some shocker that it was going to rain. The teams have absolutely no control. They always try to get the games in because there are so few holes in the schedule to make up games. This is nothing new.

Unless MLB is going to change the way it schedules games, it is probably best to start having Miller Park like stadiums built in cold weather cities.

Yeah heard that too. My first thought is us Sox fans would bitch about that as much as blue seats.

It didn't rain after they called it. That's what's bad. They should stop looking at radar and just play while it isn't raining.

What are you talking about?

The forecast essentially guaranteed rain in the afternoon and evening. Call the game and hold it today which MLB purposely leaves open for that reason.

I can never understand Sox philosophy on weather threatened games.

I've been to Sox games where the weather was miserable cold on-off rain lasting 7 hours and 3 delays.

And then you have yesterday were no rain but they call it.

Did you hear about the idiot complaining this morning about his experience? He took his fat/handicapped aunt from Detroit, his 8 month pregnant wife and toddler to the game. Definitely from Cicero.

There were tons of idiots complaining. Boyer's explanation was excellent. It would address KW's criticism of my post above.

He was then mad that the box office couldn't process a cash refund on the spot. What an idiot. I've never seen that scenario in professional sports. You usually have to file a claim of some sorts.
