10 games...WOW.

Amazon has acquired streaming rights to 10 NFL Thursday night games for the upcoming season, Deadline has confirmed. The deal is for one year and the pact is worth about $50 million, a major increase over Twitter’s rights deal last year that had marked the league’s first package with a streaming service.

If Thursday Night Football was worth a dead dog's dick, that might touch on inneresting.

Nothing against you ... just the NFL.

I agree.I wish it would die,but still quite a move for exclusive rights by the big A.

Amazon seems much more qualified than Twitter was last year for this.

There shouldn't even be Thursday night games between opening night and Thanksgiving. It's crap. Thanks a lot, Amazon.

If you need to watch NFL Thursday on your phone you have issues.

Its bleeding pretty good that is for sure. The NFL looks drastically different than it did ~10 years ago and changes that are not for the better will continue to happen.

People who would be watching this on phones is probably minimal.

Someone just paid them 50 million to broadcast 10 games that are available on tv for free.

They have challenges just like every league does but it's going to be around for a long time. At worst, they may have peaked but with how they were by far the most successful sports league in American history they weren't going to grow forever.

I thought it said these games are only on Amazon. There is no free TV.

Quote:
Under terms of the deal, games will be available only to subscribers of Amazon’s Prime service. The Thursday package will also still air on TV, with CBS and NBC splitting the broadcasts for the 2017-2018 season and all those games also live on NFL Network.

It's ok jimmy. It's probably hard to concentrate with the Cubs struggles.

Jimmy you are on to something though. I will never understand why the Thursday games are like that. They started as something to build NFL network and then to make cable money. So why do they insist on undercutting that by putting them on free tv? If I were the people paying for these rights I would not be happy.

I cant stand this streaming shit. I havent watched Amazon in the bedroom since last football season and when I tried tuning in today I had to re-register my TV. No idea what the password is so it takes me several minutes to track it down. Once it recognizes my TV again it takes probably 30+ seconds to load. It takes this long every time I switch out and back in. Once I got in today there was another 30 seconds of ads before it actually starts showing the game. Pretty sure I have some ADD issues and like to flip around during time outs and breaks or if there is a lull in the action. If its not a great game or the Bears I often think about whether I want to go back to the game or not. I have no idea how kids today stream everything. Most of them have a way worse attention span then me and lose interest in something if something takes more than 15 seconds to grab their attention.
