He's not going to break up the "rotation" to get Almora more playing time. "Because if John Jay goes out and gets 3 hits tonight, then everyone will say why isn't Jay starting".

Uh, Joe, I can guaranfuckingtee that if John Jay gets 3 hits tonight (HIGHLY unlikey) no one would be clamoring for him to start over Almora.

Was it just me Matt or did Joe sound not so smart during a losing streak?

Did Montero look blown-up rounding third? On a home-run trot??

He started to slowly get under my skin last year when he said, pretty early on, "There are no bad moves, there are good moves that don't work out". Which is basically him saying "Fuck me? No, Fuck you."

My buddy who lives in Brandenton and is a Cubs fan was excited when the Cubs got him but also said "His shtick will get old, believe me."

Come on Matt, let's have a little perspective.

They've won 200 regular season games in his first two seasons. Reached at least the NLCS in those two years and then went on to win the whole damn thing.

I say Maddon has copious amounts of fan equity in the bank.

Fan equity doesn't mean shit here. CH wants Toews thrown in jail now because he isn't as good as he was five years ago.

I have no problem with Maddon having fan equity but don't act dumbfounded why anyone would question you.

Hair has Toews smoking dope by the pound.

A jail sentence might not be out of the question if Sessions gets his way.

These players are insulted that Julian Green is making them sign contracts for their rings. All the good feelings have been dashed.

Valued at 250K. I'd be pissed too.

If I earned the damn thing don't tell me what I can and can't do with it.

UPDATE

The Cubs insisted the Hall of Fame controversy was much ado about nothing and that the ring agreement, which the club says does not apply to players, manager Joe Maddon and the coaching staff, was a way to assure the gifts would not appear on eBay or other internet auction sites, potentially lowering the rings' overall value.

2 run single from Leash's favorite Cub outfielder Albert Almora Jr.

Only down a run now.
